has anyone used a td05 turbo (14b off of a 1st gen eclipse) on an ecotec. if so how much boost are you runing, and what fuel mods do you have?

mitsubishi 14b is a little small. get at least a garrett t3.

well its my daily driver, and they spool descently quick and if i need some more out of it i could just turn the boost up.

if i did go with it what fuel mods would you use?

and i think they run 12-14psi stock. would my motor handle that much on that small turbo?

the 14b turbo is not large enough for an ecotec. like he said, get a Garrett T3 60 trim

T3 60 trim will spool somewhere around 3000 rpm which is fine for a street car. a 14b is so mall you would get very peaky torque which would really just be a pain in the ass for daily driving. Kinda like my K03 in my beetle... full boost at 2300 rpm may sound cool, but try maintaining traction.... You'd probably end up with a nasty boost drop after 5000 rpm as well. T3's can be had for cheap too, normally $700 for brand new and around $350 for a remanufactured unit.
