I just got my adapter plate welded onto my saab manifold, I didn't want to have to weld the plate to the manifold but it was my last resort. i have only seen one ecotec with this manifold, i held the manifold and shook it around to make sure the welds were holding. What do you guys think?
since that takes like 5 hours to load here is a faster load ==>
It seems like the adapter plate is very thin.
And how did you welded it?
yeah, that adaptor plate is too think unless you are securing the turbocharger on some other platform, or it'll crack once it's heated.
Firewolf what do you think will melt? the adapter plate or the welds? I used a arc welder with a high output voltage to weld it, but that adapter plate isn't going to crack. A 3/8" steel plate isnt going to crack if you were talking about the adapter plate. Yeah I am not too sure about the welds though, the welds I do have on there are good and penetrated but not sure if they will hold.
Assuming it holds up, AWSOME.

I am still working on my setup. I am having exhaust problems but i should up and boosting by the end of the week. i have the manifold and turbo on my block and it is holding just fine, we will see about the heat.
looks good man, you should have good luck with that flange at 3/8"

O.K. I'm perty new to the sport compact thing I just bought a ecotec sunfire 5 months ago looking for go go stuff (perty hard to find). I read through this topic and replys and I have heard of what you are doing some what. Why wouldn't you just use the hole darn Saab turbo system then there is little to no custom work I would think. Well thats what I was told to for a turbo just junk yard the whole thing. And what would you recomend or use fore fuel and timing upgrades? Thank you.
Cool setup Cold Fusion, hopefully the rest of your kit goes trouble free.
