Well I finally got a cold air intake made for my car. It is basically a 3" mandrel pipe that goes straight down from the throttle body, under the battery, threw to the fender (I removed the winshield washer fluid tank to make a hole.) The filter sits just in front of the left front wheel, and the splash guard has the front 8" or so cut off to allow air in.
I can't really say if the car gained any power, I just started driving the car again, so the butt dyno is a little uncalibrated from before winter
The really exciting part is that my EGT's are much cooler. With the warm air intake, driving at 120Km/h my EGT's were at 1400 degrees, now with the new intake, they have dropped to 1300 degrees.
The only work left is to relocate the winshield washer fluid tank...
can you post pics? i wanna see this!

just be carefull driving now with the splash guard cut out like that....dont dirve through any big puddles!!!
got any pictures. I was thinking of doind this, hmm maybe i will someday.
You should really invest in an AIM inline filter just incase your driving through "terenchel" (sp?) rains... I almost locked my first engine up like that... The inline filters only run like $35 so it's not a bad thing!
that's ok Rusty. I know AOL Instant Messenger doesn't make inline air filters.

So anyone have more info about SC egt temps?

Hey man i got a AEM air bypass valve in my truck, bought it for my AEM cold air but it was too wide a diameter for the intake, plus our cold airs werent made for the bypass... if you want it ill let it go for 20 bux, never been used. I think it might be 3 inch, i can check tomorrow for you if you want.
