Well i made my first purchase for my turbo project tonight. Bought a spare .020 bored 2.4 block from Mike Karas. I'll prob be buying his old turbo header set up for a t4 turbo, and his downpipe.

Yea mike's numbers kinda swade me one way. Plus he already has such a nice turbo header already made for a t4, so why not. I can just get a smaller wheels, so elliminate some lag. Big turbos arent all that bad, they can actually save u more gas when not boosting, cuz they spool that much later. And i plan to near copy Mike's setup with his help.

Damn you're really going all out right?
Sounds like you're going to build up the 2.4 turbo engine and swap out your 2200?
Actually swap my gay 2.2, i dont even have a 2200
Im also swapping trannys as well to a 5 speed. I predict it will take me near a year to do this, but it will all be worth it in the end. im just excited that im taking my frist steps.

cool, i wish i had the funds
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
hmmm, cool. congrats on your first steps. i know how you feel. I about to get my built 2.2 motor, not event 2200. i know, i know, why right. .... well, i like being the underdog, and wanted to push this 2.2 ohv to the limit. see whats possible. I'm also going all out. I've already spent something like 5K in the last few months, mostly on the engine, some on tranny, and some on fuel management/ engine management.
I'm excited too

hah, you nailed it right on the head. This is probaby the single most difficult part of turboing a 95-97 2.2.
I'm converting to top feed. check out my other thread.
here
cool, yea i didnt feel like messing with that, plus with a 2.4 swap there is more potential for power. Main reason i swapped.

i totally agree with you. Do the mounts match up?
Let the madness begin
275hp & 306tq - 1999 2.2 ohv
13.2 @ 108 mph
-1996 2.4 liter + Turbo + Built motor + Torco + More boost = Lots o' Power
-2000 Mustang GT + 2004 Cobra motor, Whipple 2.3 supercharger,
built rear-end,Dodge Viper spec T56 6 speed, bolt-ons = wheelies at the track!!!!!
ahah, yea Adler, Mike is dreading the idea, but i think we can pull it off, Curtis and Steve have done it before, and aparently the hardest part is hanging the new pedals. I figure if that is the only thing he is dreading then all the turbo and motor junk should be easier, just not on my wallet.
As far as the mounts matching, i am going to have to cut off the old mounts and weld in new ones, cuz they do not match. But its all good.
