i know that any stand alone fuel management is pretty much the best fuel system money can buy, but thats sorta out of my price range at the moment. other than that, what would be the best way to squirt the right amount of fuel into a boosted 2.4 at 5-7 psi with room for upgrading?

Save your pennies and do it right the first time. You won't have an engine the second time around.....

yeah ok i get it...but i'm kinda asking for input on what specific fuel management setups people are using on their boosted engines, not just what's available for anyone to use.

i pretty much had the same question asked a while back and in result the SAFC2 was what everyone said to get. i also have a friend running on in an integra (i kno its a total opposite in cars) but he had not one problem andwe both think that was the right choice to make. i ordered all my turbo parts and i also ordered the SAFC2 and an FMU with both you can get a much better fine tune. but good luck with your choice. i also think the SAFC2 is cheaper or atleast when i looked but also i looked at only that and the E-manage. (i heard a lot on the emanage that made me wanna get the SAFC2) but with these piggy back units u wont get a perfect car but thats the same no matter what.
