right now i have about 6000 saved and i was wondering if i was to put all this money on a rsm stage2 sc kit, port/polish heads, 2.5 exhaust, ported im, TB and flywheel and clutch and i going to get 300 to the wheels or should i go the turbo route? any suggestions and feedback would be great. i dont no if anyone has already gone this route but i would really like to know before i shell out this much money. Oh yeah the car all this stuff will be going on will be a 99 Z24.
to get 300 HP you will need more than what you have listed there. Rods, Pistons, P&P, secret cams, decent sized turbo w/ intercooler (id say about 15 psi on a big t3/t4) and some way to tune that. also fuel and timing concerns arise. at this power level you may start getting major tranny problems as well. and this stuff is generallizing.. you will need much more than whats listed here to actualy obtain that number..
with $6000 is way do-able but its not as easy as you said there..
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
so when i get the pistons, rods, cams and tranny cooler with the rsm kit i will not see 300 to the wheels unless I add like a 75 shot. that's not good to hear. so basically i need to go turbo then to obtain the numbers i want.
thanks for the info and for giving it to me straight. most people just sit there and b/s with you and tell you what you want to hear. honestly from what i was pricing just a minute ago it looks like turbo is actually cheaper than the rsm kit anyways. why did exploited stop making full kits? does anyone know?
Listen 2 Shifted dude knows what hes talkin about
if it ain't broke...MAKE IT GO FASTER
300 will not break the rods.... if you built the engine for hp that high with less torque, you shouldn't need a full rebuild. It will help you either way though. If I were you, I would go turbo , not surperchager, and I would deffinately build the motor up.

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
people have gotten a whole lotta power outa stock bottom end but one thing goes wrong and blamo.. not that forged rods wont go blamo but it takes a much bigger blamo to do it.
