Hey all ... I'm in Germany and thinking since there are lots of Saabs here, if I go to junk yard and find a Saab (02 - 05) 2.0T, what would I need to pull to go turbo. I currently drive an 02 LS Sport, Ecotec, 5-speed.
Basically looking for a list of things to pull. I want to find a complete engine with turbo and if possible, the tranny. Will all of this bolt up?
Also, the computer, what exactly would I need to pull to make the engine work. I've done a little searching and it seems everything should bolt up pretty straight forward??? But, would the wiring harness be a b!tch to work out or would it be possible?
I want to run something that is factory engineered, if that makes since. Not looking for the 11 second screamer, just a solid 13 second ecotec. I think I can get there with a few upgrades with the swap, but is it possible with this swap (can it even be done?)?
Thanks and look forward to everyones response!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
ask them how much for the front clip. you'll never know what kind of misc stuff you'll need.
Hey, I'll be in Germany next week! Baumholder to be exact. how does the cavy do on the autobahn?

prolly 108mph lol
"dude, thats a girls car"
NOT ANY MORE!!! PSHHHTTT!!!!
^^^ BINGO! Not bad really. Mostly the speed is set at 135 kpm (about 82 mph) but there are stretches it's unlimited. You'll get passed like you are sitting still by some cars! It's amazing to see someone drive that fast. I've had mine to the limiter a few times, but the rpms are so high that I don't like to stay there too long. I run mostly around 85 - 95 mph and keep up with 90% of traffic.
Shoot me an email when you get here and we'll see about getting together. I live in Landstuhl and it's only about 45 min or so. I have plenty of ICE COLD GERMAN BEER and you are more than welcome to stop by and have a few!

You should get a vid of some of those cars go flying passed you. My mom has been in a limo a few times on the Autobahn when she was a flight attendant. I've always wanted to take a 1993 McLaren F1 or a Porsche GT3 wide open down it.
BAh!!!! I just talked to my bank and they won't let me take it, but I'll have it paid for in a year so maybe I'll bring it over then. Any recommendation on beaters till then? I'll need one for me and the wife.
I experienced the autobahn about this time last year with a friend of mine and a 79 Daf (laugh away). We were getting passed by EVERYTHING! The wind off of some cars literally blew us off of the road.

There's plenty of BMWs and such on the lemon lots on most bases over here as well as some american cars. Local banks right now are running about 3.2% - 7.2% for used car finacing depending on credit history. So finding a ride is not a problem over here at all even if you have bad credit, someone will loan you the money or you can drop 1K on something for the time being.
You need anything when you get here don't hesitate to call ok. My number is 06371-917-630. Drop me an email or give me a call and I'll be more than happy to help with whatever??
Later,
