I got my turbo in the other day, I took it apart tonight to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I found a repaired spot and small crack in the turbine housing. I bought it off an ebay auction that said it was brand new. I emailed the guy about it, im not sure if he's gonna reply though. How bad is this? Should I run it, or buy a new housing? Hopefully he'll refund the money for it or get me a new housing.

Just tell us man, it's not some big deal. Reason he asks is b/c they are know for their shotty work, and I saw on here where someone purchased a turbo from them and their compressor housing cracked in half.

The reason why I ask is because the SSAutoChrome/Stone Mountain Racing turbos are known to have problems. They are made somewhere overseas I think. I have heard many Honda guys complain about those turbos lasting about 1 month until the turbo starts smoking because of the bearings and other problems.

gotcha. well its not either of them. it was a private seller. "cray90" on ebay. I've sent him an email. We'll see what he does. I hope I dont have to pay for a new housing.

They are also an ebay seller, got my T3/T04E .48A/R 50trim for $645 with a one year warranty, and it's a true Turbonetics.

They take weekly turns with jstonestang, it may be the same company, but they ship quick and have great costumer service.

I'm looking at a turbo kit from SS Autochrome for a 2.3L Ford motor. Well the question that I have is

If i go ahead and buy the kit and just replace the turbo immediately with a brand new T3/T4 from cheapturbos.com or wherever...

Would it be worth it?

I could always just buy the whole turbo setup from the T-bird turbocoupe or mustang SVO and just replace the turbo anyways. I have a few options.

Any suggestions?
