hey guys, got a question for ya, my buddy wants to sell me a garret t3(he says it is off a grand prix gtp) it has 4500 miles on it, this older guy drove the grand prix so it hasnt been stomped to much( I hope). he wants to sell the turbo and a side mount intercooler to me for 125 dollars. now do u think it would be worth it, i want to put it on my 99 sunfire with the 2200, now some1 told me that motor setup is turbo ready cause there is alot of space in the front, but then some1 else told me i need to get a new computer, or tweak it so it can handle all of that because it is sopposed to get more fuel? what else would i need to do, i know i need to get the rest of the parts, but what about that computer.
so im lookin at side mount, turbo, what else do i need?
thanks for ur time guys
The stock GTP turbo isn't a T3. It may be a T28, or a T25, but it's not a T3 and it won't bolt to any manifold which uses a stock T3 flange.

you have alot more than just a turbo and a intercooler read the faqs they will explain alot your gonna need at least another 1500$ in parts im getting ready to do the same to my engine 2200 just read alot i sit on here for hours at a time cause i have no idea about this boost thing ill do n/a all day but boost is much more technical and as far as i know you do not need a new computer people run extra injectors or (like me) some type of piggyback fuel controller such as a safc-2 or e-manage good luck and watch my post ill have lots and lots of pictures
"dude, thats a girls car"
Unless I'm missing something... Stock GTPs are Supercharged, not Turbocharged...

I was thinking the same thing. As far as i know they are supercharged.
Ummmm, I believe there was 2 years of a 3.1 Turbo Grand Prix in the early 90s
Oh, learn something new everyday..
