i tried posting this on ecotec power, but i thought i would try here as well
i want to throw the entire high output turbo setup from the saab 9-3 onto my 2.2l ecotec
my goal is to actually make my engine identical to the saab one.
could someone possibly give me some part numbers to the following:
-intake manifold
-exhaust manifold
-turbocharger
-oil pan
for the rest of the setup, including internals, i am thinking of just going to the aftermarket
if you have any suggestions, i am always open to hear them.
I won't be able to give you parts numbers but seeing that I'm running that setup myself I can point you in the right direction.
First off if you do a member search for Bradoson on this site he may be able to sell you a Saab kit.
Otherwise, the two main components you need for the swap are the Turbo and mainfold off the 9-3. The oil pan off the 2.0L Ecotec cannot be swapped in--that won't be a problem though because there is a port that you can drill into to create the return for the oil.
I'm not to sure about the manifold...check with brandson as I believe he's using it.
You'll have lot's of fun with this setup and it will look like it's stock if installed properly.
i searched for him, but oculd not find him, can somone link me
becuase i would sure love to buy this kit!!
Markseco wrote:My bad, search for brandoson
i searched both, didnt get anything....
do you think gm would have stamped the part numbers on the parts?
I HAVE THE SAME SETUP AS BRANDOSON....I ACTUALLY HELPED HIM FIGURE IT ALL OUT.

Now the intresting part is you are going to spend way to much money if you order all the parts new.
the exhaust manifold is 500 dollars
the turbocharger(tdo4e) is 1100 dollars
the intake manifold is 150 dollars
the oil drain tube is 50ish dollars
and the throttle body elbow is about 50 dollars.
downpipe is 800 dollars because it has a cat on it. not known if it will fit.
nothing else is swapable.
so you will need an:
aftermarket intercooler...........150-250 dollars
charge pipes............................(you can get from brandoson) im not sure on price
downpipe for turbo..................(you can also get from bandoson 2.5") not sure on price
Oil lines w/ fittings about 60 bucks(for feed)
you wont need a bov as its part of the compressor housing.
Me and brandon lucked out cause we got his whole setup from a blown saab motor we did @ a sister dealership. we just bought the core for 500 bucks and were set.
If you are intrested contact brandoson or Brandon Ray
Link to his profile
he built my downpipe and charge tubes as well as his, his brothers and a fellow .org member but in not sure who.
Here are pics of when i had the setup on my car.....these were taken almost a year ago and it looks alot different..........and the pics are very very dirty(were taken during an eco swap)
