How much boost will a stock 2.4 ecotec intake handle and any huge pros or cons with a aluminum intake?
Swap it mine cracked at 8 psi. I now have to 2.3 swap running 13 psi on stock block.
I guess I should have clarified, I have a 2.2 ecotec with the 2.4 intake. I'm boosting the motor but since its a zero mile motor I'm going to run low boost until it blows then I'll build it for more boost. I'm just worried that when I build the motor the intake may not handle 16lbs.

not to call you out or anything, but why dont you build a motor on the side and just drive the stock one til you have the other one built... then destroy OR sell the lower mile ecotec? Most boosted motors that fail are not salvageable. (rod thru block, etc)
AND when did 2.4 intakes bolt to the 2.2 Ecotec?
Edited my choice of words. lol

2.4 ecotec intakes, as in LE5 intakes, have always fit the L61.
I have a stock L61 intake that has seen 16# of boost...
Does the 2.4 intake get in the way of the oil filter.
Build the motor first
There is a guy local to me that is pushing 22 psi on an eco 2.4 mani and has not popped it yet.
I can't say for a the LE5 manifold, but the L61 will take 20-22 no problem.
FU Tuning
My LN2 mani has seen 30...

420.5whp / 359.8wtq
My 2.4 Ecotec intake has seen 18 psi with no problems. Although I did blow an intake O-ring one time, IDK why though.
As a side note, it is a definite improvement over the stock 2.2 manifold, and I refuse to buy an aluminum intake until dyno proven gains are shown, not just heresay.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
Well I guess it's a no on the intake and looks like I'm going to change things up a bit and going to sell my new motor and going to find a low mile motor to use to build a turbo motor. Just wanted to say thanks for all the input for everyone.
Haha, I forgot all about the 2.4 ecotecs.
