hi guys,
I am supercharging my 2005 sunfire with an m62 off a cobalt.
the adaptor plate i am using is the aluminum plate style and what i need to know is...
with my battery being in the stock location (not moving) what are my chocies fo the air intake on the 2.2 supercharged eco?
Thanks
Your going to have to make something. Use a old intake and make it work.
FU Tuning
Is the adapter plate the same or very similar in thickness to the GMPP kit? If so, there are two good options:
1.) the K&N short ram intake will work great. You use the folded over elbow on the throttle body and face it back towards the master cylinder and attach the pipe color pipe, BUT you will have to cut the pipe to size (ouch) and you have to drill a hole for the PCV (or you can attach it to the extra port on the adapter if it's the GMPP kit adapter). The pipe bracket will still attach to the power steering pump and the filter will be in the same spot behind the battery.
2.) the AEM cold air intake will also work. You need the K&N short ram elbow, though, and then you can call AEM and order just the color pipe, pipe protector pads, and hardware (got all that for $110). Then just install the CAI piping as a regular J-Body and attach it to the elbow on the S/C. This one needs the fuel pressure regulator port on the color pipe enlarged for the PCV hose or plugged if using the port on the adapter (if available).
Both setups will benefit, if not require, the throttle body cable guide metal bracket to be cut. Just need to shave a bit from the top (if looking at the bracket as it would be on a non-S/C engine).
I cut up an egay ld9,intake works perfectly

Hey guys,
Not to bring up my old thread but..
Does anyone know the part numbers for the aem set-up?
I am having a hard time finding the parts separately in Canada.
Thanks
I should still have the AEM numbers somewhere. I'll try to get them to you this afternoon.
