i wanna boost it on stock motor. run 8 to 10 psi. 2002 5 speed with the 2200. what is the cheapest but easiest way to go thats reliable. this is a daily driver. is it possible to get done in a weekend. anybody selling a used kit let me know. looking to do after winter near spring or summer. what kinda power should i be expecting with 10psi on stock motor? i know i can find some of this if i look but people have already screwed me over on used kits. and i know yours guys know your stuff. i appreciate it. also tune wise. what should i do about a tune? thanks.
i went and bought a turbo kit from ebay it works well but i would not recommend getting the cheep one they have i bought the 800$ one they had for the 2200 and i had a few probs with it and i have a full stock engine and i run over 10 pis of boost some times over 15 but that's pushing it to the max so if u want to boost and not spent lots of $ ebay is a ok place to go but i would recommend staying away from there cast iron manifold just saying
If you're gona keep the motor stock you're gona want to run only 6-7psi boost IMO. If you want to keep it reliable as a daily driver and not spend a ton of money anyway. As for finding a turbo kit...look in the classifieds. There's been new postings (good amount of turbo stuff) almost daily lately. A lot of the turbo parts needed are not vehicle specific (wategate, bov, etc). There's a good sticky write up for a custom turbo kit on the boost main page with advice and a good parts list. You can definitely save some money, compared to a kit, if you do a custom set up. With 7psi boost and supporting mods (exhaust, etc) you'd be looking at around 200hp. Maybe someone with a 2200/turbo will chine in and give you more specifics. For QTR mile times you'd be looking at high 14s I'd guesstimate. For a tune...no doubt use HP Tuners. Check out the Tuning forum for some good info on that.

I have said it before, boost numbers don't mean a lot. You can run 30 PSI on a stock motor as long as you are not making enough power to blow it. With that being said, a stock 2200 can reliably make about 270 WHP. Which is enough to crack a high 12 with a good driver and sticky tires.
However, it seems people around here like to be very "safe" and not push it. I realized when I turbo'ed my car it was never going to be as reliable as stock with forged internals or not. So I figured I would try to make as much power on the stock internals as I could, because I am not scared to blow it up. It just gives me a reason to rebuild it and go faster (winter project for this year).

If you do it right, and plan your build correctly.
Its absolutley worth it.
The eco and quad guys will bash the 2200.
Just do what you want to do, dont base everything off this forum.
Get some information and be different with your build, that is where the respect comes in.
