Ever since I installed my new ZZP S3 intercooler on Friday yhe car is overheating. In the city I can't have the A/C running or the temps will continue to rise past 3/4. With the A/C off the temps stay between 220 and 230 as the fan cycles on and off. On the freeway, A/C on or off, it stays also stays between 220 - 230. Fans are working, intercooler pump is working, what can it be?
Note: All cooling system parts have been replaced.
Really should not matter, unless the H/E is tied into your cooling system.

it's not tied into the cooling system. it's simply pump, to dual pass in, to dual pass out, to T resovoir, to intercooler, to pump, and repeat. i honestly can't drive the car after the install. with the cobra h/e it got warm bit nothing like this. i can't drive with a/c cause it climbs to 3/4s, can't go on the freeway cause it climbs to 3/4s, can't drive it in the city with a/c off because the fan struggles to even keep the car at 225*F.
did u remove the air dam under the radiator under the car? if so put it back on. its has a purpose.
and maybe modding cars isnt for you...seems you cant do anything right and not have problems...

You really got some balls to talk. Since when did you become the expert on modding? So what,?now the org is a place for professional modders. I tjought these @!#$ places where for unexperienced people to get some help. I don't what the @!#$ your problem is, but if you are just going to be an asshole and make smartass comments, then just keep them to yourself.
Did you bleed the air from the h/e system, and make sure the system is completely full of coolant?? Sounds like maybe you have a ton of air trapped in the system (or just not enough coolant), making the system pretty much ineffective and driving up your IATs. Super high IATs are gonna make your engine temps rise a bit too (though I doubt it'd make them get as high as you're saying).
I had alot of air in my h/e system a first and my IATs looked like I wasn't even running a h/e. Bled the air and got more coolant in and it was much better.
I'd also make sure it REALLY is full of coolant.. I forget how much fluid capacity is in the S3, but it has a damn big core so it'll take in alot of coolant.
Like pointed out, it really shouldn't effect anything much with your engine temp even if done wrong, as the 2 cooling systems are independent of one another. The rise in IATs will rise motor temps, but not drastically.

This is why you should always design your cooling systems to be self bleeding. I just have to have the pump running when I fill it and all the bubbles come out within 5 minutes of it running. It took a decent amount of thought to get it all routed right to self bleed.

doesnt take balls to point out the obvious man. every single mod you have done to you car (since i have known of you) you have had issues with. i even pointed a few things out to you IN PERSON, and you told me i was wrong, or thats not what so and so said. you just dont seem like a person who is knowledgable in this kinda stuff. dont really care if you work with cars or not. doesnt mean you are good at it. you come on here and ask the same question time after time after time, and dont take peoples advice or listen to what they have to say. it just gets old. thats all.
I installed this same setup on a J, here in FL. No issues, no air dam either.

The air dam has always been there. Even after I ripped it off a while ago on a parking stump I went to the junkyard and got another one.
It turns out that there was a leak on the inlet fitting of the interooler and cause air bubbles to form. I fixed the fitting and bleed the system (hang the intercooler down with the inlet and outlet fittings facing up) and it helped. Then I designed an air dam that encloses the intercooler and directs air from it to the condensor. Helped a lot on freeways.
Unfortunately it began to warm up again, not as bad as before (223*F area with A/C on), but still. It appears my intercooler pump is running intermittenly (second time I've caught it not running), so I ordered a new one and I'll see what happens.
OH NOEZ!!!!!! my coolant temps got to 207 today i better fix something thats not broken.
air dam wont help if theres an HE because the HE will be infront of the dam and prevent air from coming up to the rad. i fon't have a aid dam on my 3800 car and i'm under 90C i have a 180drilled stat.
whats happening is your HE is HOT and air is blowing through is warm summer air and gets warmed up by the HE then it goes through the condenser whichs takes that warm air and warms it up a little more then you are trying to cool down say 180-195F water with HOT air
2 things you have air in the HE system causeing that fluid to GET WAY HOTTER then it should or its just so hot out that your HE is doing what it can.
if its say 80F and you compress that air then try and cool it you might be doin all you can
if thats the case i would istall a meth kit just before the IC and have it spray on the IC that will be a good performance mod to accompany the IC and help cool it down. but i would make sure all the air is out before blowing more money contact turbo tim at ZZP and see if he can help you out
