I am rebuilding this turbo and I am measuring the compressor wheel and I am getting a 38 Trim. Am I doing something stupid?
From my knowledge this will get me a quick spool but will limit me to around 300-350hp?
This is a Turbonetics turbo as well.

[(1.863)(1.863)/(3.0045)(3.0045)] x 100= trim
(3.470/9.027) x 100= trim
.388 x 100 = trim
38= trim

Trim by itself doesn't limit the HP. It is a relevant number when talking about spool up characteristics, but it does not directly correlate to max power capability (although it can be related). What is the model of the turbo? Look up a turbo map for it, that will tell you how much power it can support.
Trim doesn't really tell you much about max suggested flow. Compressor inducer size is one of the biggest contributing factors in compressor flow. This is also relative to wheels of the same geometry. Considering you have a 1.9" inducer, though, you are likely going to be limited to around 300-350whp.
I have no signiture
i will say that thing will spool idling lol
what exactly did it come off of?
Some simple research and I found out exactly what I need to do.
Its actually a t04e 40 trim compressor with a stage 2 turbine. Turbine side is ok, the compressor we are going to mod to fit for a 50 trim. Should be perfect for auto X.
