Hey so im trying to figure out this thought. I have a full turbo n full gmpp sc kits. Now I can simply put the boost on the car n the project but I was thinking of both on the one. The car is a cav eco motor. I dont beatvon them im not out for numbers I think this would just be really awesome. How would I go about doing this. What would I need to function both kits. I have a killer tune guy n I can install this easy. I just never install both together. I wanna know what to look for. What to watch out for etc etc. lets here the input. Thanks
Well I have read some threads here in the past that mention things about twin charge not being all that great as its a more complicated setup and usually yields less power than a turbo setup alone. But I'm sure people will chime and and give more info. It has and can be done, as I believe someone made around 266whp being twin charged (think it was on an LD9 though).
Watch out for lots of manifold pressure at low RPM. If both systems are allowed to function independently you will see way more pressure than you are really after. I was seeing in the neighborhood of 17.5 PSI at 3500 RPM. My M45 could produce 7.5 on its own and the turbo wastegate was set to 7.35 (half bar). Both systems were allowed to function independently. If I had sourced a presser signal for teh WG from the manifold, the turbo would have never done much as the SC exceeded the WG spring pressure.
They can make for very well rounded motors as you get the throttle response/torque of a supercharger with the horsepower of a turbo. However they are really complicated setups, that often require bypass systems so you don't over spin the supercharger. They can be done but aren't really that common, however I do like them and find them really interesting.
I think if you are asking this question you might already be in over your head. You should do lots of research on basic principles and designs of twin charged setups and then ask more questions that are specific. Your question is too vague.
