Hows it goin, my names Brandon and I have a 2003 chevy cavalier LS. I am currently finnishing up a turbo build on it with a Hahn RaceCraft Super 20G Turbo+Manifold, 2.5" downpipe with full 2.5" exhaust, 4"-11.5"-23" intercooler, 2.5" turbo charge pipes, transmission cooler, HKS ssqvlll bov, racetronix f-ls1 fuel pump with plug and play wire harness to alternator, 42# injectors with harness.
The problem is my block is still all stock and automatic but strong only has 40k on it.
I'm currently wanting to do a build on the motor with 80# injectors and harness, 78# valve springs and retainers, ported head, high performance neutral balance shafts, ATI underdrive balancer, eagle forged rods, wiseco pistons, and turbo grind comp cams to try and achieve a much higher horsepower gain.
My problem is my automatic transmission, i was wondering if the lsj 5speed manual transmission would bolt right up to my l61 block fit in my engine bay and line up for axles and everything so i would have a good strong manual transmission for the engine build? Thanks.
Nope it wont..
But...the f23 getrag 5 speed will bolt on with some work. You need to weld new trans mounts in and all that jazz. I have a how to in the trans forum. Any reason you dont want to keep the auto?
The F23 5-speed have been proven to hold power better than the LSJ's F35.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
Alright thanks guys and wasnt sure if the auto trans is gonna be capable of holding 400-600hp plus the power loss to the wheels with the torque converter i would have to get that rebuilt.
