well if you have access to a wrecked SS then I would advise getting everything at once and go ahead and get the alternator to save a future headache.

From an install point of view the actual kit was alot easier/quicker to install than piecing it together, but if that is the only way for you to get a "kit" then go for it.

I do have to agree with tinkles because I got mine as a kit and the little stuff like the throttle body adapter would be hard to get a hold of. That being said you wouldn't be the first to piece it together, and I doubt you will be the last it isn't impossible to do, it can get a little frustrating with some parts, but depending on how much getting the stuff of the wrecked car is going to cost you it could be worth while to grab it and sell the parts to put towards buying a full kit. It all depends on what your situation is and options are.

Yeah getting the tb adapter would be hard. And hand made ones may "work" but they're never good. You guys are going to laugh when I post up what the tb adapter I got with my kit looks like once it gets replaced.

hmm. What i cant figure is why theres not another tb that bolts right on. I mean, the damn bolt pattern is rectangular.

well i found out if its wrote off its going right to the crusher, but theres a junkyard about an hour away from me who may have some wrecked ss balts, i actually dont think a TB adapter would be too hard for me, i have a machine shop literally 5 minutes down the road and im sure he could make something up

And I have a cad file that once I make sure it works will make open to the public to use at their discretion.

GM's LS4(FWD V-8) TB is a direct bolt on, but it is an electronic TB just like the LSJ TB. That means that we cannot easily use it.

Right (Actually i'm not too sure on that one I keep hearing whispers of some adapter plate being needed for it). But I mean a cable driven one. I mean its a damn rectangle there must be tons out there that are rectangular.

The L61 is "rectangular" but like all of the others the pattern is alittle bit off.

Its not rectangular. Let me post some pics of what the adapter looks like.

Um hello, i have a M62, i know what the adapter looks like. So one of the bolts is out of place, oooo. It proves my point that there are subtle differences in the bolt patterns.
