turbo stutter/misfire..HELP!
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 2:39 PM
Here the deal, saab kit, gm reflash, ss greentop injectors, 2.5 dp, 2.5 high flow cat with 2.5 inch the rest of the way.

When I am on 6 psi the car runs great, no problems.
When I am on 8 psi the car "hesitates" a little, just a little stutter in HIGH rpms and boost.
When I am on 10 psi the car just completely falls on it face in full boost at a higher rpm, just feels like its cutting out.

Should I change the plugs?

Any input is appreciative.

Sounds like your running out of fuel. What is your plug gap?

Still, lower that gap to between .28 and .30. I was seeing all kinds of breakup in the upper RPM's gapped at 32.

With MSD coils and .038 gap, my car runs perfect now @ 18 psi. It used to stutter with spark blowout at .028 with factory ignition.

Im going to keep the boost around 8, maybe set it at 10, Im very pleased with the power at the moment though. So glad it was the plugs and not some fuel issue.

It's really more vehicle specific to which gap works well. Sounds like the 35 he's at is good to go. Me personally I run 32 at 18 psi daily with stock ignition and have had good luck. I have had to change the gaps on other ecos to accomplish the same results though......

You're compairing Eco to LD9 though. Ignition system isn't the same, as well as plug depth it's self in the chamber is different.

It really is vehicle specific, keep trying different gaps till blowout is surpressed, or up the ignition power to MSD coils.

But it seems the op already fixed it so my post is utter useless garbage, but now i feel wicked important for posting such ....i'm bored at work leave me alone.
