Fetter vs. Venom intake manifold dyno numbers...
Saturday, October 31, 2009 2:29 PM
What a difference an intake manifold makes.

VENOM = 344.8hp , 301.4tq

FETTER = 381.3hp , 331.2tq

Made an adapter plate so I could run the same 62mm throttlebody then retuned the ve's . Kept the timing the same and the boost the same.

Didn't have time to change to the 78mm FAST throttlebody or test the HO manifold vs. Fetter but will get around to it sometime soon.

95lb. injectors are about as far as I want to push them @ 94% duty cycle so it's time to make up my mind how far I want to push this car.

Remember to add about 20% to these numbers to equal a DynoJet number... 457ish

did he buy those custom cams Z?

WOW gary... well it's a bitter sweet victory, sucks for me because i am using the venom but its awesome because you proved that it doesn't do jack LOL now we can tell people to stay away! hahahaha

very nice.

*** edit now that i think about it, it just proves the fetter is a better manifold, still doesnt show us that it is better or worse than a stocker. the venom i mean...

I do not think that is all true. We would need to see the difference between stock and the Venom to say it does not do anything. It could be the same as stock, which means it just looks nice. I would go stock over the venom myself.

Zyaaaa, yes he did.

Wow only .405 lift? I feel kinda bad, I measured them a couple times to make sure it was right. Guess the bargain basket dollar caliper i bought was in there for a reason. I appologise for that.

LOL john you must have missed my edit. i agree. we need to see a difference between a stocker and a venom to be sure.

I'm a bit confused as to how you're nearly maxing out 95lb injectors at +-400hp. What's up with that?

Blew it up, build numbers coming soon

Oh about a 36 hp and 30 ft-lbs gain...

Interesting that the torque curve is EXACTLY the same but pushed up and the HP curve has a slightly steeper slope.

On the venom note, even in a boosted condition, the only way you can see a difference this big would be if the venom/stock design is very restrictive. I'd really like to see the HO vs. venom vs. Fetter comparison....waiting for that one. I honestly dont have very high hopes for the HO....probly get smack in the middle of the two.

I remember being disappointed in the Venom design was identical to stock when it first came out.

I am curious how the HO intake will perform since I will be using an extrude honed one soon

Or maybe one to bolt to a 2.3 "086" head

psshh... i made j marks one really fast..... no one else really SERIOUSLY wanted to pay to have one made.

ryan a 2.2 is in the works a fl. boy wants one i need to get a 2.2 intake down and look at it.

jason its being done, i think a 086 head is finding its way into my engine bay....

I think the fetter performs a hell of a lot better than the HO mani. Also remember the fetter mani has a cnc transition from the runner to head!

HO mani and 65mm throttle body...This was Brians dyno graph and the 38mm wastegate. When we first put the motor in we were seeing almost 22 psi spikes. You can see that in the dyno graph...

Fetter mani and 80mm throttle body...This was with the 44mm wastegate and around 17-18psi

This man speaks the truth. You have to pay to play, and we paid for the honey moon, or the clutch haha

Seriously though, he came through in a week. We sent him all the parts, he made the mani, got everything powder coated, and had it sent back with in 3 weeks. He really is the @!#$ man!

Once he has the 086 mani done, we might have another car with a need for one...

I am flattered that you are trying to keep up with me even though I cheated to get there, LOL!!!

Now I need to work on the rest

Which setup was that? Didn't Brian have the HO intake cam and secret exhaust cam and a 3076r? for awhile then switched to the HO exhaust cam and a 35r .?.?.?

(the 437hp is in DynoJet mode isn't it?)

I'm still on just the secret cams... Plenty of room to grow if I decide to.

Its always been a gt35. He had an LO intake cam, and HO exhaust cam.

The 437 is dynojet numbers, the gray 379 is dyno dynamics.

Those are some great looking numbers! The dyno jet yeilded about 15% more on our runs. So that puts you at right about 440 or so!
