hey everyone, will a 3.0" pulley on my M62 work with my stock belt? its fairly new so its not really expanded, but i just bought a 3.0" and 2.8" pulleys of Jon, so just wondering if anyone has tried the stock belt on the 3.0" pulley? dont wanna do the swap then find out i need the smaller belt right away

Mine squeaked a bit on start ups.
it will work but then will start to squeak
You can put a couple washers on each alternator bolt to make some more tension on the belt. Zing! Problem solved.
or just buy the right belt

shoudl work fine, im running the stock lsj belt on the 3.0 fine
^Your belt is a 6 rib though; the J-body belts are 5 rib.
The alternator spacing works, or you can space out the whole tensioner/alt assembly.
The Cobalt Stg.2 belt works, but a rib must be trimmed off in order to work with the J pulley system.
already know that had to change the belt already

cut a rib off

my belt is a 5 rib idk who lied to u and said i run a 6 rib...
count for yourself, as you can see their is a rib on the pulley not covered by a belt...thus i am 5 ribs, he can run the stock m62 belt with a 3.0, there will be no problem with that
there a better pic, once more the stock m62 belt works as small as a 3.0", some have reported it being fine with a 2.9...but 3.0 is safe...anything smaller u can get the GM stgII LSJ belt and cut 1 rib off, no problem...
Reason I said 6 rib is because you said you had an LSJ belt. You actually have a L61 GMPP belt.

wrong once again, i am running a belt that came off a LSJ with 40k on it, cut 1 rib off to make it 5 rib to work for my set up on the cobalt...
I see. Thanks for clarifying. Modified LSJ belt. lol
The reason I brought it up is that the 6 rib would create more tension.
all the pullies on the l61 are 5 rib, thus a 6rib the same lenght is no issue, just cut one rib off and your set
