Ok, i have the 1/2" NPT tap to thread the hole in the girdle. My only questing is what tool do you guys use to actually rotate the NPT tap? Did you buy one of those expensive tap wrenchs or use something else?

Use a tap wrench...and they're not that expensive man. Harbor Freight is your friend. You COULD use an adjustable wrench, but I can almost guarantee you it won't straight and you'll end up over-sizing it more than you want to.
Thought so. Bought one off ebay but it's too small. Says it can fit a 1/2" tap, but it can only fit like 1/4". Will one of the bigger wrenches fit in that space behind the engine? Room to spin it and such.

There should be enough. I've got a large tap wrench sitting next to me. When do you plan on doing this? The weekend of the 18th-20th my car will be down working on it, I'm sure you could drop be then and we could get it done real quick. You have my number, so hit me up. I moved to Tempe btw, so I'm a lot closer to you now.
If you are suprememly talented, you can use a hand drill...But this is Brian we are talking about...I don't think you are that talented...lol
Get a tap handle from harbor freight i think they sell em in the three pack (3 sizes) for like 10 bucks.
Well the thing is, my NPT tap is huge! I just went to Freight and bought a bigger one and it still doesnt fit in it. I might take the bit to a machine shop and have them make the end of it a tad smaller so it can fit in the wrench.
Plus, using a hand drill would be a pain. You would have to hold that thing as hard as you could like no other!! Dont want it breaking your wrist in that small space.

I have everything you guys need but it doesnt leave my garage so let me know when we can do it and I'll help you.

why not get a socket to fit it?
I use my drill when I can.
Other than that, I got my harbor freight tap handle. Super cheap.

Hah, I wish I had that offer for anything I've ever done with my car. That's a sign of a true friend, letting you use his tools and garage

Brian I have a tap handle sitting in front of me on my desk that will fit it. I also have a garage now too, and will have my tools in it within a week or so, so if you can't get it done or don't want to go to Alan's, lemme know.
Ok. Well, if we do do this at alans we might as well install the whole turbo setup there. The RTV sealent i have requires a 24 hour curing period. So if Alan's down to do it, lets do it.

P.S. It's Mike's turbo setup from his silver sunfire.

I'm pretty positive alan helped with the first install of this kit. Let me know when u do this and I will lend a hand for sure. And as dumb as this sounds (alan will agree) go to a honda dealer and get hondabond instead of rtv.. It works a ton better
Ya, it's his bro's setup that they did. He went back and forth between his place and Alan's to take it off. And now it goes back on...haha!
Hondabond, eh? Ya, i have the Permatex Copper kind. Meant for high heat and high performance.

Honda bond.. Its one of if not the best sealer/gasket maker out the. According to some.
U better lemme know when this goes down so I can help
I will. Just waiting on some stuff to get in. The new cat and resonator come tomorrow. Then I just need to buy a few little things; clamps, brass fittings, new fuel pressure gauge.

I do believe I just used a 12 point socket and a 1/2 in rachet when I did mine although thats alot easier when its out of the car Im sure.
