I have a 97 2.4 and i have just torqued the head down to the block. im useing a cometic .074 i was wondering if it would be ok to take the head off would the gasket still be ok ? its still on the engine stand so it hasnt seen any heat im also using arp head studs .
Should be. Just be very stinking careful. There are a bunch of people on here that have taken their head off a few times and reused the gasket.

Yep youll be fine to take the gasket off. Before you put it back on make sure you clean ALL surfaces including block, gasket, and head. Cometics hate not being sealed correctly lol.

The cometic is also manufactured to be re-installed. Just be glad you've got headstuds or you'd be buying another set of bolts.
