M62 Blower on LD9- MANNY by OEM
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 6:47 PM
We finally got the blower on the car today and running. Runs great, drove the car for about 2 hr with no problems. Car has a lot of power and a lot of potential for more. The belt is on withOUT a idler pulley. I was seeing IAT temps around 110 max. Here are some pics. Our manifold on here is a proto design. We are going to use it to make a the production pieces. I know that there are other companies making kits with heat exchangers but we think that this will be a budget blower kit. You should be able to do a whole kit for around 1500$ when all is said and done. Our kit will include the manifold but you will be able to add other parts as well for extra $$. Such as a catch can system, TB adapter, belt, etc. The kit with just the manifold will start around $800 shipped. Manifold will be on the OEM website later this week. This is a proto kit, some tweeks need to be worked out but all in all it runs. Please excuse the dirty bay

Very nice setup Mark and that Sunfire sounds so mean.
And I agree too that there's little to no room between the supercharger and the radiator support.
Good luck with it and once again, I'm subscribed to your threads.

Soon. Maybe next week if everything goes as planned. I need to get cought up on some other projects. Manifold is back at the welder to have the bypass valve made out of aluminum, instead of using a rubber hose. I know its close, but this is a proto, its not hard to get another 1/8 out of the manny.

With the bypass valve working properly and my baseline tune on there it should run ridiculously better than it is at the moment. Can't wait to see it running at its peak.

Amazing and finally us LD9ers have something other than turbo to go to for some serious hp gains.
Thanks to all that thought of this and making it happen.

depending on what power #'s/track times are, that will help to see which way is better but this sure gives the s/c boys something to look forward to as the m45 is weak sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the moment I'm not interested in any M62 manifold because I have more in my M45 to get out of it. Still I would like to see better pictures of this manifold. Like off the car. You really cant see much in these pics.

I say leave the M62 in its current location and tap the top of the manifold runners for a direct port nitrous set-up.

Only if dry or run a smaller shot. The fuel from a wet shot can cause sc bearing damage, happened with my m45.
