Whats up folks, this is exactly like the usual ordinary turbo build thread that you see every day. I just need you to graze through what I have already bought to make sure that I am on the right path.
I have a 2000 ln2 motor with 3 speed auto trans.
here is what I have already bought for my turbo kit
-TD04 from a volvo (cant remember the other part, but I think it was 13t, or g). This turbo has an internal wastegate as well as an internal blowoff. Debating on keeping it because it is very small, however I do not plan to forge the motor, so this may be enough.
-Evo IX stock intercooler
-Cobalt SS injectors and harness (just want to clarify that this will work on the ln2)
-SRT 4 fuel pump, and I also have a Camaro SS fuel pump, dont know the numbers on them, but I would be led to assume that the srt pump should handle all that I want
- Cobalt SS MAP senson (also want to clarify that this works for the 2000 ln2)
Other than that, I was thinking about running the cheap log manifold, which should serve well for my purposes, get the intercooler pipes and downpipe made and my buddy has HPTuners pro that I am going to use.
I just want to make sure that I am on the right path with some of these items. I just dont know about that turbo, pretty small and I can buy a turbo from an Evo for cheap, but I plan on running 8 or 10 # of boost, so I dont know if I need one of those. Also, I want to make sure that the Cobalt SS parts will work fine on the car.
Thanks for the input, and it wont be long until I have everything to start this process.
oh yeah, and of course the wideband, etc. etc.
Is it just me or does it sound like your piecing together a cheap turbo setup, and throwing it on a stock 2200? As well as other things from other stock cars that you dont know will fit?
If so...... stupid. Do some homework.

First off, why are you using this turbo? Did you get it for "cheap"? Why is the real reason you are doing this project? Is because you want to make power, or so you can make uber cool noises? I am not against anybody doing this type of project, but yo must do research and not go cheap...
-Evo IX stock intercooler
Depends... What are your fabrication abilities?
-Cobalt SS injectors and harness (just want to clarify that this will work on the ln2)
What are your HP goals? Harness is not going to plug in, but plugs could be tranferred.. You may need to do more homework on fueling...
-SRT 4 fuel pump, and I also have a Camaro SS fuel pump, dont know the numbers on them, but I would be led to assume that the srt pump should handle all that I want ..
Why not use a Walbro or Racetronix? Based on the way this build is looking, an MSD booster pump will work for your needs..
- Cobalt SS MAP sensor (also want to clarify that this works for the 2000 ln2)
NOPE! Not gonna work.....

Why not do it right? Have a manifold made out of quality material. The cheap manifold you will probably get off of ebay will probably be a T3 flange... Turbo kit/performance and the word "cheap" should never be used together...

Again, why these specific parts? Is it because they are cheap?

maybe he has the LN2 confused with the L61? otherwise, i dont know why the cobalt ss map.

Hes got a lot more confused than that.

Doesn't matter.... The 2.5bar MAP will not work. IF he has a 2000+, the SC reflash could be done with a 2bar sensor, but most people have not figured out how to get the parameters correct to make it work...
To the OP, fill out your registry.... This could help others help you in the future...

hey guys, as you can tell I am a newbie to the cavalier. I just picked it up as my beater for school and to keep miles off of my other vehicles. The reason for the random parts is because I have friends that have taken these off. A buddy has a Evo IX special edition that put a gt35 on it as well as built motor and new intercooler. so he hooked me up with the stock intercooler that only had 6k miles on it for cheap, so I figured it was probably better than an ebay special. Another buddy has an ACR Srt4 and upgraded to a walbro 255, and his stock one has 30k miles on it, so he hooked me up with that. I ran across a deal on the cobalt ss map and injectors, and I remember reading about it, so I bought that at the time. Listen, this is not a big deal to me whether I do it or not. The only reason why I would like to try is to gain further knowledge about turbo systems. I havent read too much about specifics for a 2000 ln2, so I went with what I read. I decided not to do anything once I read about using an FMU for tuning, but once I figured out that HPTuners could be used, I decided to start piecing some parts together, since a buddy has the hptuners pro. another buddy had the turbo that I currently have, and I assumed that the srt4 use a td04 turbo on a 2.4 engine then it should be fine on a 2.2. I know that the car will be slow as dog @!#$ after turboing, but that is not really my concern. just wanting to go through the motions to learn. I was asking insight to see if I am on the right track, and obviously I have swayed a bit, but it doesnt sound like too much to me. It sounds like I could use the injectors, maybe the harness. I figured that regardless of what intercooler that is used, there is going to be fab work to make it work, so there shouldnt be that big of a deal with the current intercooler. The map sensor came with the injectors, so I guess I havent lost anything with that. The part that concerns me know if doing a fake map. Obviously I need to read up more on it, but I have plenty of time to do so. I am not trying to do this right now anyway, just getting everything prepared. For anyone that has gone through the process of turboing a 2.2 ohv, then I would greatly appreciate any input that could be provided.

I have plenty of feedback/knowledge of the LN2 and boost. My previous post was asking questions of why/what your plans were and your reasoning. Your original post did not have a specific goal. Your response kinda helps me understand more. Also, thanks for not giving a bitchy response. That will get you a lot farther here! The parts you have
can work with the proper fab work. Do you have a more specific question?

well folks, you can check the classifieds for some cheap, nice parts. I have someone buying the car in the next few days and I am picking up something else, so I will have no use for the parts. There are some great deals in there, so take a look.
