Tune for <6psi? fuel injectors?
Friday, July 10, 2009 5:03 AM
Ok so I read the faqs. Thinking bout making a turbo setup for my 02 2.4. So I dont need fuel injectors or pump if I plan on running less then 6psi? What do I need to do for tuning purposes? It does not say much in faqs about tuning. I know I will need a fmu. Thanks guys for your help.

You need larger fuel injectors for any boost level....

And HPTuners, no need for a fuel management unit.

Ok so what injectors are ideal? And I dont need a FMU? Just have someone tune it with hp tuners? Thanks man. Also so the stock fuel pump will work ok?

I would get at least some green tops. YOu can have someone put the GM reflash on your car and then add the 2 bar map sensor. They would then be able to do some good tuning.

Cobalt SS/SC 36lb injectors, you can get a set of 4 for only $30-50. As said someone reflashes your car with the supercharger kit reflash, you use the 2 bar MAP sensor, and then adjust the fuel injector constant and all the fueling/spark tables to your liking.

For the Ecotec yes. For the 2.4 no.

Took the words outta my mouth. I vote to run 440cc/min injectors (ford green tops) because if/when you get it all installed/tuned, you will want more

True green tops are Ford injectors. I believe the Cobra and the lighting. Cobaltss/sc injectors are green in color, but slightly smaller and cheap.

The 2 bar is not required is it? What would be the easiest way to tune it for less then 6psi? My buddy has HP I think he would be able to help me out but he is used to tuning lsX motors. And where can I find these Colbalt SS injectors? Thanks fellas!!

A local guy and myself each scored low mileage sets of lsj (cobalt ss/sc) injectors for under $30 shipped. Go check out cobaltss.net and do some searching.
