Well I finally got the car tuned. Not what I was expecting from what other people have got out of their mp45 setup but its much better than it was before. Anyways, after 15 pulls in an hour and a half I put down 189whp and 181wtq. I figure I could have gotten a better number if I had let the car cooled down but may not have been a realistic number. I am gonna try and post the dyno graph but I've had problems doing that it the past but hopefully I can get it to work.
So I am kinda wondering what A/F ratio people are aiming for with the mp45. The guy was tuning for a near 11 A/F and seems to be running in the 10.8-11.3 range on my AEM wideband (he used a innovate to tune). Anyways, I am wondering if a high 11 A/F would be safe and if the gains would be noticeable over what I am running now? I'd love to get to the 200whp mark but am either gonna need more tuning or a little extra mods (I have one that I am debating about). Anyways, let me know what you think and if anyone could help me out that would be great. I just got my BFG drag radials on my rims this afternoon and the test and tune is on tuesday so I'm gonna try the car out to see if I picked up anything over last summer.
What were your IAT during that run? Did you get your alky injection working consistently yet? The key to getting decent power out of a supercharger is cooling the air down somehow.

wow power really seems to fall off after 5700. I aim for 11.7 on my set-up.
FU Tuning
The meth still was acting up, I am going to get that looked at the next time I'm home. I'll probably be going back to the dyno sometime in July so hopefully I can get that fixed at to see if it makes a difference. Not sure what my IAT's were, but they must have been getting there cause we pretty much did a pull, changed some fuel/timing and then did another run. One time we even did 2 pulls without shutting the car off. We advanced the timing 2 degrees lost some power but the curve stayed smooth and had no knock. Backed it off 2 degrees again and picked up what we lost. So there wasn't much we could do with the timing. Did pick up decent numbers going from the 2.7" to 2.6" pulley, something like 7whp and 5wtq. Anyways, I am hoping I see the 200whp mark this summer but as long as my 1/4 mile gets into the 14's I'll be happy. Haven't decided what I'm gonna do with the car after this summer so I don't want to do too much more to it until I know. Anyways, its running better and I guess thats the main thing.
To me it seems like the heatsoak is what is holding you back. I would be shocked if your IAT was not near 200 during WOT. Get your alky injection straight before you hit the dyno again.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
Yeah I have a feeling that is was heatsoaked too...I am gonna get my alky working, maybe get it to start spraying earlier or put a bigger nozzle in. I was debating about a very small shot of nitrous to help cool things off and get a little more power. I'll have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.
leaning out would most certainly get you over 200, 11.0 is way too rich for that setup

Well I will give the guy a call next week and see what he thinks...maybe aiming for a high 11 A/F (maybe an 11.7 A/F ?) might yield me some better numbers. When the car was running a 9.5 A/F it seemed to have a hitch/hessitation which was due to too much fuel and now it is way better than before but once in a while I do feel that hitch/hessitation but not to the same extent it was. I think I should be able to get into the 200+whp mark if I get the A/F a little better, get my alky working right and not doing 14 dyno pulls in an hour and a half.
Deffinatly lean it out usually I try to aim for a mid to low 12.x to 1 and some times leaner if its a race car. Lean it out throw some timing at it with a nice amount of alky and i see 200+ happening. Not to mention that blower was probably tired by the final dyno pulls give it some time to cool down.
That hick up could of been a slight misfire the motor wouldn't detect it completly running so rich could have wet the spark plug causing to foul out a little bit I've seen it happen on a couple of buddies turbo hondas.
It definitely needs more tuning, you should be at least aiming for high 11's, if not dead on 12. Also have a look at smoothing out the power curves with mid range tuning/smoothing because they are currently pretty jagged given 5x smoothing.

wade- dont forget your car made 217 with absolutely zero cooling mods running.
oh and iirc iat's in the 170s.

I'm tired of wasting my time... now I'm breakin' free.
Well finally got to the track...car seems to be running rich still, dips into the 10's once in a while and stays pretty steady at 11.2-11.3 most of the time. So I think there is some more to be had there and I think I am gonna run a bigger meth nozzle. I have a 175ml/min nozzle in now and may bump it up one size, can't remember what the next size was that came with the kit, I think it was a 225ml/min but not 100% sure. Anyways, here are my 1/4 mile stats for the evening:
60 ft - 2.114
1/8 ET - 9.467
1/8 MPH - 75.25
1/4 ET - 14.73
1/4 MPH - 92.40
I'm pretty happy with this, it was my first time out for the summer. Hoping I can get the car running a little better and gonna try and get to a better track, the track here runs 2-3 tenths slower. Anyways, I'll update with new dyno numbers and 1/4 mile times when i get everything done.
danny is known for just pushing the fule to the cars, he's used to tuning hondas, Id use him for the dyno only and get luc (combz) off of msc or nbat or there is raven in halifax to give ya a tune. id say thats your best bet. no gm's around freddy have gone to jd racing for that reason as far as i know. (hoping it's the same jd racing in n.b) will you be as the fun run?

What was your air pressure in your tires on that run? Your trap speed in the 1/4 is low compared to your trap in the 1/8.
Think my tires were at around 17psi. I'm gonna try 16 psi next time. I think I may have mentioned that this track is 2-3 tenths slower than most because at the end of the 1/4 mile it starts going uphill and I loose about 3-4mph on this track compared to the other one I have raced on. Once I have the car running a little better and I get my launches dialed in better I am gonna head to a better track, either cape breton or NB. I haven't ran at Miramichi yet but I hear its one of the fastest in the maritimes so it will be interesting to see what I can run.

I did start tuning my car at ravens but that didn't work out so well. Long story short after 6 hours of street tuning and 2 hours on the dyno there my car still had a 9.4:1 A/F and was running like a bag of @!#$. 10 minutes at JD racing I picked up 62ft/lbs and 30whp @ 3500rpm. I was told by raven that there was something mechanically wrong with my car and he couldn't tune it. Anyways, its not worth getting into that but I ended up going to JD racing and I am very happy with what he can do. He told me to drive the car and see how it was and then if I wanted to make any changes to give him a call. So I am heading back at the end of the month to lean it out a bit more, gonna aim for a 12-12.5:1 A/F. Don't want to spend much more money on tuning this summer cause I am going turbo when I put the car away for the winter.

Ahh that makes sense then, I knew something funny had to be going on there.
Yeah...I ran a 15.0 last summer with a 93mph pass in cape breton and best here was a 15.3 @90. So I think I should be able to run pretty quick once I get to a better track. My mph here is the same as it was in Cape Breton last summer and I have done a bit more work to the car. I figure since I gained 3-4mph on the track here that I would gain that in cape breton as well. Have to wait and see.
Are we talking about the same raven with the 3800 turbo swap?? I would have figured he knew what he was doing tuning.

Figured is what I thought too...oh well, live and learn. Got another place that is much more enjoyable to deal with.
