Well I have the gm s/c and the gm re-flash. I will soon be adding a cobra h/e and 3.0 pulley and possibly a pace ceramic header. I do not have an A/F ratio gauge hooked up because I see no point when I cannot change it even if the a/f ratio is slightly off. My question is will the h/e setup and a 3.0 pulley mess with the a/f ratio?

Yes, it will mess with your afr. The more air, the leaner the car will be.
If you dont have one, at least borrow one from somewhere/someone. Be sure your in safe zone with your setup.
If the car is too lean, you may need to upgrade something in your fuel system since you cant tweak the tune, or go to a bigger pulley. But from what Ive heard this setup is popular and you should be ok, but dont quote me, I dont own an eco.
I've had the 3.0 pulley on for a while. It stared running lean at higher rpms (even with hptuners), so I put a racetronix fuel pump, thinking the fuel pump was starting to go bad. well that didn't fix it. I put in my 42 lb injectors and tuned it with hptuners and the leaning out at higher rpms went away. My thinking now is stock pulley with stock injectors, if you want a smaller pulley you need larger injectors and a tune.

indeed. tune still workin for ya? im thinking of seeing how a 2.9 works with what i have right now

Well dang!! So basically since I got the gm reflash I shouldn't change the pulley?? Would it be worth it to put on a heat exchanger then?
Maybe I should just do motor mounts and a header...

Dont change the pulley till you have the heat exhanger setup and upgrade your fuel system.
A header will work well. Id do that.
yea, header would help, so would mounts. i wouldnt go smaller without a heat exchanger, but you should definitely upgrade your injectors if you go smaller.

Will the reflash work with bigger injectors and what size should you use for a 3.0 pulley?
i dont think it would, the injector constant will not be correct. i used 42# for the 3.0

Ok so I have the GM Reflash, so I shouldn't:
Add H/E
Add 3.0 Pulley and 42# injectors
without getting it re-tuned, which I can't because of the Reflash.

Basically you shouldn't do anything that changes airflow significantly (pulley, cams). I got away with running the 3.0 pulley for almost a year. Then I dyno'ed it and it ran super lean on the gm reflash. I'm surprised it didn't blow up.
I don't see why you can't add a H/E. Also i've been told it's safe to go down a few pulley sizes on the reflash just lower then a 3.1 gets risky.
well maybe I'll just do a 3.1 pulley with the h/e...
that way I don't have to mess with the fuel system and won't have to worry about the reflash running it to lean...

GM Reflash runs way to rich... U can run the 3" pulley and HE... I've been running that set-up almost a year now and no problems...

And your injectors are the ones that came with the kit?

you can do a H/E and a 3.1, but all im saying is on the 3" with a H/E on the gm reflash i was leaning out to the 13s after 5500 rpm.. caused a fuel pump to go

A heat exchanger is a good idea no matter what size pulley you are running! Engine mounts and a header would also be good mods.
You can still get your car tuned with HP Tuners. Your 2 bar GM relash will not be able to be tuned but many people have ditched it to run a fake 2 bar tune. However from the sounds of it you don't want to go that route.
Also "too lean" has yet to be defined by any of the posters in this thread. "Too lean" to one person may be 13.0 and the next guy may say 12.5 is too lean and someone else who is used to a car running 11.8 might say anything higher than 12.0 is "too lean". Nobody has said what AFR they think is "too lean" nor has anyone said what AFR they were seeing with xyz setup. And just because you have the same setup somone else had does not garantee that you will see the same AFR they saw. Just because you can not change your AFR easily does not mean you should not have a wideband AFR gauge. If your car is boosted you should have one that is all there is to it.

did ya miss that part? 13s is lean for this boosted application (m62 on a cav)
the fake 2.5 bar isnt bad once you understand how it works, so i wouldnt count that out as a tuning option so easily.

Ive learned first hand what happens when you run too lean. Mr Eric, if you want your car to be safe, I wouldnt even touch the pulley till you hook up a heat exchanger. Then maybe go to the 3.1 pulley.
But Any smaller, you need to upgrade your fuel system. And as far as tuning, throw that thought out the window since your going with the reflash. Play your cards right.
Alright well I'm just gonna go h/e then 3.1 and not touch the fuel system

Sounds good, but you should look into a wideband as well. So you can see your air fuel ratio. Always a useful tool for ANYONE that is boosted.
How does a wideband work?

Wideband 02 sensor. Plugs in place of your factory 02 sensor. Determines your afr and displays it in a little box for you to let you know if your running rich/lean.
Search dude. They come in many shapes and sizes.
