I've got a friend who may be looking to put some power to an Ecotec and was wondering what kind of power handling there crankshafts have. I did a quick search with little results. Any help is thankful guys!!!

From looking at the GM build book the crank is good for 500 hp

stock.. GM says 500hp. Nobody has personally put a stock crank through that kind of test though.

You will have to get the block sleeved at the least

I'll be dropping at least 500 to the crank when my car reappears later this year or next and I'm gonna run the stock crank to start with. I have no concerns after seeing how the rest of the engine held up to crazy power over the ratings from GM.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.
