Doing a turbo upgrade.... and trying to LOWER compression.... I know the dish is bigger in the older 2.2 ohc engine.....
Does anyone know the compression if installed in the newer 2200 ohc block?
compression would be similar. if you put the 2.2 head onto a 2200, you would drop compression significantly.
I wouldnt recomend either of those swaps though, just get some lower compression pistons, or space out the head with a thicker gasket.

Thanks for your reply... but I don't think that is true....
if you put a 2.2 head on a newer 2200..... you would get very high compression.
.... 2.2 heads have small combustion chambers and deep dish pistons to compensate
.... 2200 heads have large volume combustion chambers and use shallow dish pistons.
Is there anyone that knows what the actual compression ratio with the 2.2 pistons in a newer 2200 block and head???
I don't want to drop to low on compression
OK...... no straight answer to the compression question
..... Can anyone tell me how many cc's the 2200 head chambers are
..... and how many cc's the older 2.2 pistons dishes are?

I had measured them, but the hard drive they were stored on fried. I remember it was lower than 7:1.
