GM S/C reflash
Saturday, August 02, 2008 11:56 AM
Ok i got the gm s/c kit last week so i started to call some dealerships to get a price on the reflash. the first one i called said "wtf a supercharger for a cavalier" and hung up. second one said he would call me back and never did. third one i called toldem the part number for it, then told me it was a aftermarket kit not made by gm.

I called my friend and he said his dad could tune it if i got a vin from a s/c cobalt, will this work?

I went to my local dealer gave them the part number and $120 later and an hour of my time it was done I dont think the cobalt tune will work because thier computers are more advanced than ours

thoses guys at the dealer ship are stupid and shouldnt be working there if they dont even know there own performance parts. I would tell them its a gm kit which it is, than maybe they may put there brains to work and ask there parts department, i'm a gm tech and i have met soem ppl that worked for us and didnt know anything about anything.

I paid $80 for a dealer to reflash mine, I dropped it off over night and the next day it was done.

ya our dealer in town had a bit of a problem with my brother in laws cause they actually didnt know about the 2.4 blower but still managed to figure it out, and about 120 bucks later i stole the keys and took it for a drive before he was even finished paying for it

but ya you may have to walk them through it but if there are any halfway decent mechanics there they can figure it out cause the steps to do it are the same as the one for the cobalts

lol wtf. Give them the part number for the reflash found on the last page of your install instructions. Tell them to call the techline and download the reflash. I've taught my dealership well...haha

if the dealers in your area cant figure it out, speak with the service manager, reference the GMPP numbers for him to look up, and make sure you let him know what a hastle it has been working with the service writers who rudely hung up on you.....

maybe it will cost less than $120 then....

The cobalt s/c will not work. The pcm and everything is way more complex than that of a J.
