i couldnt find it searching but i was wondering if the cobalt ss supercharger will fit on the 2.2 ecotec, im not sure if i needed a new intake manifold or what not, from the kit pictures it looks like you have to get one either way?
Thanks for the help.
cobalt ss is a 2.0l not a 2.2, thus you will need more then a new intake. there is a kit made for the 2.2 eco tho apart from taking the ss supercharger and adapting it.
yea i saw it, the thing is its just too dang expensive so i was hoping to either get one from the junk yard or piecing it together.

if you cant afford it new, try the classifieds or ebay. you will most likely have a hard time piecing it together.

from what it looks like you could swap everything over from the cobalt ss since the kit comes with a new intake manifold...
cobalt ss uses a different motor. only thing you could use is the s/cer.
the design of the supercharged motor is different from the non supercharged one. there are 3 different motors in the cobalts, supercharged is 2.0l, non supercharged ss is a 2.4l, base cobalt has the 2.2l.
dang, seems like i might as well save the hastle and just buy the kit for $3000...?

wrong, you can use the complete set up from a cobalt just you need to get/make a throttle body adapter. Everything else bolts up perfectly fine.....
really, thats good to know.
I'm running a set up direct from a cobalt only difference is, i got a 5 rib belt from gm and i made a tb adapter
Yep, same here. Junkyards are a wonderful thing. I have about $800 into my setup.
yup everything bolts up, just need the TB adapter and cut a rib off the cobalt belt.

where can you get the TB adapter? And did you ust swap the charger it self or the whole intake mainfold?
honestly if you want to supercharge your car and you dunno if you need the manifold or not just buy the kit.....
I know you need the manifold. I was more asking if the Colbalt SS intake manifold would bolt upto the 2.2l head, even though the SS is a 2.0. Maybe make it easier.

Another .org member is making the TB adapters since you CANNOT get them alone from GM. I sent him mine since my supercharger kit has been sitting for a year already and will be sitting for yet another year to come...

2.0 86mm bore 86mm stroke
2.2 86mm bore 94.6mm stroke
i would assume the manifold that comes with the kit is the same one on the LSJs, just assuming, not 100% positive

it mostly is, all of the parts are the same except for the tb adapter and that the lsj's s/c is a 6 rib accessory belt.
I'M PUTTING TOGETHER A TREAD THAT WILL HAVE EVERYTHING U NEED TO MAKE A ECO S/C KIT AND HOW TO MAKE UR OWN HARNESS, I'M HOPING TO HAVE EVERYTHING READY TO GO BY NEXT WEEK.
