I have a saab kit almost ready to go on when the weather gets warmer, and I was wanting to get some things ready ahead of time. I have the TMap sensor and connector, I have 370cc saab green injectors. Is it possible to get the GMSC reflash right now, so when the build day comes I already have it. Will the computer be able to handle no boost and run fine?
This would be one less thing to worry about later.
I too was wondering the same..

I am going to assume yes, don't take my words but seeing as the tmap makes the vehicle read past 105 kpa (hence boost) but lets see who chimes in.
You should be able to get the flash, but have the injectors in already and put the 2 bar map sensor in right away after the flash is done. There shouldnt be any problems with driving as long as you have the bigger injectors and 2 bar map in.
^^^ this is my thinking but i was hopeing someone could give a firm answer, so i could do this.
A ong time ago I asked this question and many people told me no, dont do it. I dotn remember why, but try searching for GM Reflash posts and see if it pops up.
If i was you id install the kit and drive it to the dealership if i was you. Just leave a charge pipe off and you wont have to worry about hitting boost.
^^ I know it wont be an issue once the kit is on, im just trying to get some stuff out of the way while I can man…
It should work fine...just like driving outside of boost. It will probably run a bit richer without the turbo. I dunno.
The fuel mods seriously take 20 minutes to do. Why not do it all at the same time. I was going to do the same thing you're talking about, but realized all I had to do was swap my ecm, injectors, and cut some wires.
Well I know for the ld9 it will be fine so I dont see why the eco wouldnt. As long as you put in the same size or close size injectors from the gmsc kit and a 2 bar map once its done youll be fine. Your not in boost all of the time when you drive so it would be just like having the flash and still n/a.
I have to call and setup my appointment to get the flash done on my ld9, and will be driving to start putting all my turbo stuff in so its not like Ill be driving around with it. I have the 310cc injectors from the ld9 sc kit and a gtp 2 bar map that Ill put in before I leave the dealer.
^^ thanks for the responses guys
way back from the dead.
So if i had the reflash, and have removed the supercharger. I should be ok to drive around w/ just a tmap sensor in? on stock manifold w/ intake?
it would be a major pita to take it to the dealer and have it flashed back to stock.
Yeah it will be fine, I did this for a week or so when I pulled off my charger to go turbo. The biggest part of the reflash is ability to fuel for boost it will still work normally without because you arent always in boost anyway.
I wouldnt. Vince from Trifecta has found out that the GM Crapflash is nothing more than a screwed up 2 bar fake.
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa
weird my car drove fine.

-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
How many people have blown there motor running the GM reflash?
The map sensor still compensates for vacuum and boost and run the correct injector constant for the re-flashed injectors. i cant imagine it would be any different then driving the car normally.

This is old news. We knew this once HPT was able to be used on jbody's, but it still gets the job done.

I agree with this. Unless some how youre managing to make boost without supercharger or turbo.
