Was it much of a hassle to move the battery? I've been considering doing that myself shortly before installing mine.

Oh and forgot to ask: Did you pull the oil dipstick off of an s10 or just have it bent?

No, It was pretty easy actually. It just seems to drain easier than it used to.. I've had a dead battery a few times, whereas before I relocated it, I've never had to jump it.

If you want to race at an NHRA sanctioned track, you'll need to add an external cutoff switch if you move it.

You just asked for pics, no big. I wouldn't mind seeing a thread dedicated to 2.2/2200 turbos.

Yes I forgot to add that.. I believe the rules also entail that it must be in a battery box, with at least 4 bolts holding it down, must be strapped in the box as well. It has to shut off your alternator & your fuel pump.

I don't meet the qualifications to run mine at the drag yet, as I don't have an external kill switch

There has been lots of threads dedicated to 2.2 turbo setups, lots.

I thought about running the switch thru my key hole in the trunk lid, but I think it interfere's with the latch.

try going through your license plate

Thanks Jersey Kid thumbs up smiley

I'm just trying to see what some people have for set-up's on their 2.2's as i might be going the same route.

Also... what sort of numbers are you guys putting down with your turbo setups and what went into your set-up... if you can list that it would be a HUGE help

see my profile for mods....

I put down 215whp/215lbtq at 4400rpm before I had a boost leak.. never got to 6500rpm

This upcoming year it'll happen.

Stevefire I can't wait see your car when all is said and done. Notec got me thinking about another build so I might pick up another cavy over the summer. 300 to wheels with stock bottom end and block or bust. I know or motors have it in them it just hasn't been tapped yet.

Stevefire i must say... you have a very nice set-up.Mind i ask how much that cost you for the set-up? I'd like to be able to do something similar.Even at 6500 rpm I'd love to be hitting 215 whp.It looks as if you could hit maybe 250 or more at 6500

Cody i am very jealous of your friend's sunfire... one day i hope to make something that looks that nice, any idea on what sort of numbers it makes,1/4 mile times, how much did it run him?

13 bucks wow... kidding of course... 1300 or 13k? I don't see how your kit could run you that high... unless it was plated of gold or something

The stock motor blew up in the fall after we put it in due to a failed oil pump and shot the main bearings after metal from the head worked its way back into the pan... we weren't able to dyno that setup on stock motor...

Over the winter we Fully built, balanced and blue printed the motor and then beefed up the tranny a bit... Re-installed the same kit running 6psi while breaking in the motor on an in house tune with a wideband and Cartech FMU. Didn't boost it more than 1/2 pedal. We've got about 800-1,000 miles on the motor now i believe but we are still unsure of what it can really do. That setup was only a T/3 super 60. Which has been parted out and its getting re-vamped for the spring to push the limits of this motor and make a run after adler's Numbers he put down. Once thats installed were going to run it around for a little while longer on a base functional tune staying out of boost just a reassurance the rings have seated properly. Then spend a day on the dyno tuning with HPT and unleash the monster.

While i am very fond of the build, and back ryan who owns RDFABS who assembled the bottom end with his skills... I personally don't think enough was done to the tranny to support the build and I have a bet with chris saying first street run outta the speed shop he blows the tranny to pieces or snaps the drive shafts. We soon shall see...

As for price, i cannot give you exactly what it was because we did a lot of the work of assembling everything, know people, fabricated our own charge pipes, exhaust manifold, downpipe all out of t-304 stainless, but it was easily still in the $5,500+ range for built motor and whole setup.
