Hey guys I'm just wondering what a realistic estimate of the entire cost of having a GMSC installed in my car is? Is it generally cheaper to buy the kit off the net and then pay the extra fee for not having bought the kit through the dealership (reflash)? How long does it usually take as far as shop hours to install a full GMSC kit in our cars? My budget for this project is max $3500. It seemed that the cheapest price on the net for a GMSC kit I saw on our forums was about 2550.00.
probably about 8 hours labor so thats about 800 bucks, your going to be really close to the limit on your budget taking that route, a better option would be to find someone locally thats done it or if your mechanically inclined its really not that involved and you can put that other 900 towards things you need to make the kit better like a cobra heat exchanger, the lamova intercooler cores, cobalt ss heat exchanger pump, smaller pulleys, water methanol injection kit, good header and 2.5 inch exhaust, you can pick up about 40hp adding that stuff on
not sure where your from might want to make a post in the regional forum your from, alot of guys like myself would just do it for a case of beer

I agree with Rodimus. If you're near TN, I'll be happy to help you install it for free. Well...you provide food and stuff.
I did mine with a little help from a friend. If you have a garage and are halfway mechanically inclined, you can do it...seriously. Save yourself the $900 or whatever and do it yourself....or get a fellow enthusiast to help you out.
Thanks guys ill have to look around because im not very mechanically inclined myself :S and to be honest I dont think this is a good point to try and start to be haha
Do it, I did mine alone. I never did anything like that before when I did it.
