LTR6IX-11 Ecotec plugs

I figure this plug is the correct iridium 1 stage colder ngk plug for the ecotec engine.
I plan on getting a set. Who's using these plugs?

I did, and then found out they last for like 15k miles then lose their edge.

Look at it this way, those plugs are designed for high power race engines. I even called denso and they suggested replacing them every 10k miles. I'd much rather save a few bucks and get an ac delco copper or iridium plug that lasts 5 times longer

ngk makes the plugs for the eco's under the AC delco name , AC delco doesnt make their own plugs any more

the stock replacement plugs i got for the g/fs s/c eco are ngk irridum plugs , they just have the AC logo in them

You can also get an NGK iridium plug from the Dodge dealer which was made for SRT4s and is 2 stages colder than stock eco plugs. They tried to sell them to me last time I went to pick up some copper ones, Im wondering if anyone has tried them, model # LZTR6A-13 I think a set was like 25 bucks.

Yeah i am using the LTR6IX-11 Ecotec plugs and i just got boosted so i dont know how long they last, but they sure work really well

I am using the 1 step colder NGK iridium from the SRT-4. I needed iridiums because the regular plugs kept having spark blow out under boost.

I was about 030. I don't have a good gapping tool. The $0.99 one at the register. That was at only 10psi.

no i dont , but they replaced the platinum plugs that AC previously used

those are the plugs I most recommend for a boosted ecotec, but some people claim they are too long and stick into the cylinder head which I disagree with seeing as I had a spare head and put them in and did not clear any farther then a stock plug.

John: As far as an ac delco plug for a boosted ecotec. I dont know any specific part numbers. I always used the srt-4 ngk copper plug. I have 8 extra sitting herre

So the stock neon Str4 plug is one stage colder than the ecotec?

Our stock plug heat range is 5, the srt's is 5 also but is designed for a turbo engine.

I was always told the NGK Copper Plugs for the SRT4 are 1 range colder. there was a big debate on the ecotec plugs for turbos about a year ago

I was under the impression that the NGK SRT plugs the model number above was 2 stages colder, the SRT plugs that are 1 stage colder are the Champion Copper plugs which are what I'm currently running gapped to 025.
There may also be some NGKs that are 1 stage colder but I think they only show up for the 02 model year in the computers at the dealer.

Well, I just got a set of stock heat range srt iridium plugs. LZTR5AIX-13
We'll see how it goes.

Phil they are longer weather you like it or not or see it or not.
GM Ecotec is 25 mm spark plug and SRT plug is 26 mm.

I PERSONALLY DETONATED ON SRT PLUGS HEAT RANGE WAS TOO HOT AND BROKE RING LANDS HENCE BLOWING THE MOTOR.
I SAY DON'T USE SRT PLUGS, but to each their own.

You guys can also get LTR7IX-11 which are 2 stage colder nad I ran those with 23 psi and 80 shot dry so they are a hell of a plug.

Sun Cavi is correct. That would be the best Plug to use if you are going higher than 10psi.

I am also living proof of that as well. The Srt4 plugs are horrid. I ran them and they gave me nothing but problems. I am using The Ac Delco Irridiums.

Those are two stages colder...that's the plugs I have.

Heat range on stock is 5 and those are 7.
