370cc Injectors w/o Reflash
Friday, July 27, 2007 10:28 AM
I'm only going to be running small amounts off boost (6lbs) on a turbo setup with an FMU. I do not want to have to worry about my stock injectors seizing if they are going to be run at a high duty cycle so I picked up bigger injectors (LSJ). My question being will my 01 computer be able to function these injectors at their potential without a reflash.

you'll need an adjustable fpr to adjust your fuel pressure at idle, unless your fmu has that built in. other than that, you should be fine. thats basically what i ran on my turbo ohv last year. since you have an 01, why not just get the supercharger reflash or use HPT?

Actually to be honest w/ you, ditch the FMU. Your very lucky in having a 2000-2002 2.4 because the reflash is open to HPT tuning. What I mean is if you get the reflash you can even further fine tune it using HPT. Also if you just get the HPT im pretty sure that you can have someone send you their turbo tune for a 2.4 and there is a better tune then you will recieve w/ the FMU.

Yeah I plan on eventually going with HPT and trying to find a "friend" send me the reflash file but... i'm also really anxious about getting this turbo on. I've been sitting on it for a few months collecting parts. Alias1429 are you still in Ship? I thought I saw your car the other night... I was under the assumption also that dealerships are reluctant to do the reflash without purchase of the supercharger but I never asked.

I'm sort of still in Shippensburg. I've been living there and commuting to Harrisburg. I just recently got a place in Mechanicsburg, so I'm in the process of moving. I saw your car the other night, i was a few cars behind you on king street. i actually ordered HPT last week, so it should be showing up soon. if you can find the reflash file, i'd be willing to reflash your car for you

that sounds sweet... when do you think you'll be completely moved out of ship? I need a goal to have this stuff on by so you can reflash it for me... would i need a 2 bar map?

i probably won't be completely out of ship for another 2 weeks or so. my new place is only 40 mins from ship so its not like its a far drive for me to come back into town.

as far as the 2 bar map, i believe you need the 2 bar that comes with the kit and i think there is a harness that goes with it. other than that, i think you'll be all set. you might want to search around for that info, as i'm not 100% sure on it.

hopefully my HPT shows up this week, but with my luck it will probably be next week. i'll let you know when it shows up.

for some reason I think I remember someone saying that you can use the map sensor out of a SC 3800 engine... i'll have to look into it.

i used shifted for my supercharger tune. he does a pretty good job and has a good library of different tunes. so a turbo tune shouldn't be a problem.
it's cool to find some local guys too. i'm from dillsburg, but i go to school in harrisburg. when i get back from iraq next month, i'll be dropping my supercharged 2.4 in. good luck with the turbo.
