I'm just gonna buy a 00+ engine to go with the s/c kit
the info on here about s/c 96 and up years isn't very clear, and full of alot of "maybes"
I'm going to save the headache, gonna spring an extra 1500 for a brand new 00+ engine
Did you look at the Sticky at the top? I don't know how much clearer it can possibly be. There is only a few things you have to do differently on a pre 00.
Also why are you gonna spend 1500 bucks on a 00+ motor when all you have to change on your pre 00 motor is the starter, and the injectors?

are you shure? will the newer 2.4 really work in the older car,
what about the EGR issue, or the fact that it has higher compression?!!

there is a hole in the head for the EGR flow to go through on 96-2002 2.4;s. just the 99-02 have it blocked off by the exhuast manifold gasket.
( i am running a 2k motor in my 96 with no issues).
ya and an egr valve block off plate, so with the gm supercharger whats the highest psi you can set it at? oh yeah and what are you guys using for an intake and filter? I'm getting the supercharger soon so I'm just getting nervous that it's not gonna go smoothly. one guy says his rpm tach don't work and a bunch of his lights are on! sounds kinda bummy. Ya I'm ordering next thursday. so it will be in my hands soon.
