Hi guys, I got my boost gauge hooked up, and even when it's off, it reads 10VAC. Does this mean that when I get up to 5psi, it is actually 10VAC + 5psi? It never actually seems to hit zero VAC/boost until it starts to boost (when it passes 0).

Sounds like the gauge is broken to me. I had the same problem with 3 gauges before I got one that was accurate. My boost gauge reads at 0 when the car is off and when I got responses from others about the same topic I was told you should be at 0 with the car off.
If it's mechanical it's broke and will not give you accurate readings. There is no math to figure out want a broken autometer is reading.
How do you have it hooked up? Any pics?

If it's mechanical, then you can adjust it
I've had to do it to both my Autometers. Just pull out the bulb, stick a screwdriver in there and push out on the metal ring until you get it zeroed.

You CAN adjust it but you shouldn't have to. Just more proof Autometer isn't as good as everyone wants to think.

This one doesnt have an external bulb, it's internally lit... I dont think theres an easy way into it. Regardless, I took all the lines off and blew into the gauge, it landed back on zero eventually... started the car agin, it went down to 25inhg VAC at idle (normal??) then turned the car off and it went back to just slightly under 0. So I'm not sure what to think of this thing lol...

You can also tighten/loosen the barb fitting the boost line connects to, and it somehow adjusts it (don't think that was intentional lol).

I would just send it back to autometer. I bought a used gauge and emailed them that it was not accurate. They happily exchanged it for a good one. All I payed was shipping to them.
