OK im getting ready to rebuilt my 2.4 what all should i change? What can i keep stock? and what brands should i get?
im plaining on staying around 15-20 lbs and i would like to have it has a daily. If that helps eny. Thanks

You will definatley want to replace the pistons with stronger forged ones. Also you will want to replace the connecting rods with some forged ones like Eagle H beams. Karo at carcustoms sells both. Probably the most important thing is to do the 2.3 oil pump swap since that seems to be the weakest point on the 2.4. If you search for 2.4 build you might find a list of what others are replacing.

No one makes a forged crank so you have to use the stock crank, Eagle makes a nice H beam rod, Wiesco forged pistons ask Karo at CarCustoms for a set of 8.5:1 cr pistons with valve reliefs if you're planning to run 15# - 20# of boost. You want to get your head ported & polished with oversize stainless steel with HO valve springs & modified HO cams as well as a modded HO intake. Use the 2.3 oil pump swap and get a turbo manifold or header. If you look up Spyhunter on this site he built a turboed 2.4 with a ported stock head and he's making 432 whp/ 424 wtq, he probably has a complete list of everything he used in his buildup.

I am currently building a turboed 2.4 with a new deburred, knife edged, shot peened and heat treated factory nodular crank; Coated Clevite H rod & main bearings; 4340 Eagle rods with L19 rod bolts; Wiesco 8.5:1 pistons with valve reliefs ( will give 10.3:1 with 086 head but 9.5:1 with the .074 Cometic head gasket); Hellfire top rings, Total Seal 2nd rings & standard oil rings; 2.3 oil pump swap with block mods, windage tray custom main girdle; ARP head & main studs; fully ported & polished 086 HO head with stainless valves and berillium exhaust seats, bronze guides, HO springs & titanium retainers; 2.3 HO double roller timing set; custom modded oil pan with 1.5 qt extra capacity & engine oil cooler; W41 cams intake modded for ps hex and cps pad, new 35mm lifters; Extrude honed HO intake; 75mm LS1 tb; GT35R turbo, custom 321 stainless equal length turbo header, air to air intercooler and aluminum ic piping; PIT electronic boost controller/ turbo timer; Tial 44mm wastegate bov ( not sure which one yet); SPEC aluminum flywheel and stage 3+ clutch with high clamp pp; Quafie lsd & stage 4 axles.
I'm hoping to make 500whp/475 wtq on 15# - 20# of boost.


2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
