I have ordered a new actuator for my 2.4 SC and have been reading that it is crucial to get it calibrated right. Is there any info on how to do this before I screw it up? Can I just mark it some how, I have not found any information on this topic.
I am currently only seeing 4-5 psi on the 2.6 inch pulley so I hope this helps.

They're set from the factory, big "do not adjust" sticker on 'em...it probably refers to the settings of fully opened and closed, perhaps spring tension as well. There is a "stop screw" that the rod contacts when you take vacuum away and it shuts the bypass valve. If you can get your hands on a vacuum pump, you can use that to test whether or not it's moving properly using a light and a mirror. If you can't use a vacuum pump, I guess you could just unplug the hose at the throttle body and watch for the rod to move. If it's not closing the bypass valve fully, it may explain the lower boost levels.
It seems there are quite a few of us out there now who are having this issue, their units are getting older and wearing out and not performing as well as we're used to.

mine never performed good, lol. I have never seen over 5 psi, for that much money 5 psi is a joke.

Don't judge by what your gauge tells you, judge by how many kpa the ECU sees from the MAP (if you haven't already)

Hey Chris,
Where did you order the actuator and under what part number?
Also, with all the S/C they rebuild/port, couldn't Stiegemeier Porting give advice for what you are asking?
Just a thought
i purchased mine off of gmpartsdirect.com. i can't think of the part number right now, but i can get it for you tomorrow when i get to work.

Chris, keep us updated when you get it. I think alot of us will have to go this route.
I will let everyone know, how hard can it be to replace. I assume I can mark it and go from there I will definantly get some pics up. I hope this works, my car is so damn slow. Anyone know how long it takes GMPD to ship stuff?
