anyone using an oil restrictor on their t3, t4, or t3/t4 setups? I started my car up for the first time tonight, after installing my turbo, and my feed line leaked like a bitch... the restrictor wouldn't get a good bite on the flange, so I just took it off.....
I'm running a t3/t4 hybrid turbonetics turbocharger, fmic, 370cc injectors...and going to be running 8psi...
Will I need an oil restrictor?
Do you have a oil pressure gauge and if so, where is it located?
Also, where did you try to put the restrictor at?
I have oil pressure gauges before and after the restrictor inline, and you have to make sure to use plumbers sealant (white tape stuff) and make sure the fittings actually fit, (a hydrolic store is your best bet for that kind of stuff. ) and make sure you have a gasket for the oil supply flange.

yes i am also running a Turbonetics T3/T4 Hybrid and i had to install a restrictor in my feed line. i am running a -3AN steel braided line for the feed and without the restrictor it was letting way too much oil through. it would actualy spit out oil from the compressor housing while running, not alot of oil but some and enough to cause the engine to smoke under boost. use a restrictor, i think mine has a .063" orfice hole in the restrictor. good luck man
I was told that -4an def and -3an you shouldn't have to....
yes oil pressure gauge, teed off of the oil pressure sensor, teed to a -3an steel braided line with restrictor in end, going into a 1/8 eLbow into a -3an flange..oil shot out of the line right where the restrictor connected....
i had an oil restrictor in when i first started mine up....after it got hot i would see 0-5psi on my guage at an idle. I was a little worried and just got rid of it all together. Nowi see 10-15 at an idle...
I have a oil inlet restrictor on my Garrett T3 Super 60 turbo & I see about 20 PSI of oil pressure at operating temps
Anything above 5psi is WAAAAAAAAAAAY too much oil pressure for a Garrett T3 or T4 turbocharger. These things need very minimal amounts of oil to be fully lubricated. Anything higher than 5psi will eventually cause oil to leak into the turbocharger intake and/or exhaust tracts.
Garrett GT series turbochargers need even less oil (between 1-3psi if I remember correctly).
I will NEVER change my sig. HTML 4 EVA!!

I run a Function 7 oil restrictor off of Ebay and it works good.

I don't know what oil weight everybody else is running in their turbo set-up but I'm running 10W40 synthetic oil & I'm seeing 20 PSI on my oil pressure gauge at operating temps & have no smoking problems at all.............well the link below states that........well i'll let you guys read

same kind... I found out that my tee for the feed wasn't as tight as it needed to be... so I have to tighten it up...
