Idle Issues
Friday, March 30, 2007 10:26 AM
Alright I can not figure out what the problem is. The car will not idle almost at all when I have to come to a stop. I come to a stop put in the clutch and the rpms drop to around 250-300 acts like it might come back to normal then stalls or just stalls all together. I have hptuners so if there is a way to possibly fix it that way could someone let me know. At some points it has become very unsafe to drive, so the sooner someone could help me the better. Thanks in advance.

hpt can adjust idle speed

but if your having a issue then your only placing a band aide on the problem

check the IAC and the port make sure its clean and you have no vacuum leaks

What is the location of the IAC on a 2004 ecotec. Maybe a pic or description would help me. As far as I can tell all vacuum lines are good.

^^^^Just so you know I am in Germany I have lost a lot of the luxuries you guys have. I have to research, ask questions, anything I can to work my way through the problems I have over here. Sorry my love for cars exceeds my knowledge at this point, but I am seriously trying to rectify that.

Im not trying to be an ass here man... I guess my point is, if you dont even know where the IAC is, you defintly should not be messing the the PCM..... Do you even have the fundamentals to properly tune your PCM?? Do you know what you are messing with and how each table/change affects other tables???? Im not trying to "down" you, I just think you have bitten off more than you can chew..... I am glad that you are asking questions though, just becareful making changes if you don't know what you are doing.....

That is seriously understood, I appreciate the gesture. I have spent a little over 10k on my car in just mods to just go and mess with stuff I know nothing of. That is why I am planning on taking lots of time reading and working out any gigs I may have slowly. I have more then enough patience for most of it I am just worried about the now problems as in this topic that is all.
