Is a portfueler neede for a turbo motor?
Friday, March 23, 2007 7:14 AM
Hello all my turbo hybrid 2.4/2.3 ho top half is in full swing and I was planning on using HPT to tune with but I was reading some disturbing things about it in the tuning section on the board here and I want to know what needs to be done for the fuel system.
I plan on using the Walbro 255@60 psi in tank pump with the Aeromotive LT1 regulator ( which can be boost referenced) 650 or 700 cc/min injectors and the HPT. Now can HPT compensate for larger injectors and if I get the GM supercharger reflash can I still tune it with the HPT?

You wont need a port fueler, the answers to the other questions reguarding the HPT im not sure about.

with portfueler you use your stock injectors. it will add your fuel at any rpms. hpt will stop at 7000rpms.

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Portfueler is a great system. I love it. If you're going above 7000 RPM's, there's always Megasquirt as well.

hp tuners can and will tune your injectors. I dont know who has been bad mouthing it but they obviously don't have the product then.
I love it. Simply math calculation and your car can idle stock with beefy injectors no prob. and yes hptuners can work with the 2.4 gm reflash just not the eco reflash.

There's no Portfueler for the 2.4L, so it's a mute point. *shrug*

Thanks guys, I think I'll get the HPT pro, RC 650cc or 700cc injectors, Walbro 255@60 psi fuel pump and the MSD DIS II ignition setup.

I thought Hahn Racecraft had Portfueler out for the LD9 at one point. I guess I was mistaken.

Yes, your wrong.

They had a kit for the LD9 at one point but scrapped it long ago.

There's no Portfueler for the 2.4 specifically, but you can order just the program, then weld some injector holders in the HO intake manifold, and run the extra injectors with the Portfueler program.
