A friend sent me some pics and is trying to get warranty... I just looked at the pics and am thinking... very doubtful anyone would warrant something from pics like that.... what is your opinion????

I'm afraid I can't make heads or tails or those pictures aside from it being a 2200 OHV with a turbo. So without a little more story and what company you purchased that turbo setup (if applicable) then I can't really help you anymore than just saying "WTF"

it is probably the most ugly t3 flange I have ever seen, you can make some of the nuts out that hold the turbo housing to the manifold, and you can see a crack in the manifold.

so I'm guessing it rusted itself to hell? when you wrap something generally the warranty goes, C YA!

1st picture: upclose pic of plant life, on a shipwreck, under the sea
2nd pic: 2200 turbo.
3rd pic: alligator head blown off, close range with a shotgun.
4th pic: alligator guts...

That looks to be the issue. I never advise using wrap at all. It seems to just cause nothing but problems.

yah, I am thinking it doesn't deserve warranty, too, I looked at the cracks and that looks like a stress fracture not a heat crack.. .something has put excessive force on the turbo, downpipe, or both.

like... backing into a curb and crushing the exhaust... that makes sense. but the pics aren't helpful at all though.
if the manifold was jet coated it wouldn't have much problems. the egt's were probably heating the manifold bright red, then he/she backed up into a high curb and cracked at the point of least resistance.

yah my friend builds the manifolds, and he asked me what I thought of the situation. The guys manifold cracked, and sent these pics and wants a new manifold... but this doesn't look like a "normal" or even "race" use applications, lol.

I personally used the first ever manifold built (this style) and it had a slight crack, but that was a heat crack (1700) and my engine also had an issue at the same time, but that took 6 months running lean. I have had another one on my car now, and I have 20k on it and they have all been super hard, and it glows red hot (1500-1600) daily... no issues yet.
