Interally gated turbo as an external?

Ok so I'm working on a project on my 1.8 and thought maybe you guys could help me out with something. I currently have an internally gated T3 super60. If I remove the wastegate and the actuator and the swingarm housing I'm left with what appears to be a normal externally gated turbo, except i now have a second hole in addition to the exhaust outlet on the hotside of the turbo. Now my question is to run this externally gated, do I need to run a special blockoff plate to seal that small hole? Or if I run a standard 5 bolt flange on there will I be fine?

Standard 5 bolt flange will work fine. Let me check out the turbo before you order anything though.

yah, you can buy anything with a 5 bolt and it will block that off....

but have someone with experience check out that turbo before you buy, 90% of the "super 60's" are not really super 60..

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

An easy way to check if your getting a real super 60 is to meausure the compressor wheel size. I belive majesticturbo.com has the specs on wheel sizes.

yah, inducer / exducer = trim..

you want trim = 60

so if inducer =30
exducer =50

then trim =60....

your numbers will be different but should equal 60
