I wen to the chevy dealership yesterday to find out how much/ what belt size the belt for the GM S/C kit was, and to my surprise, and i'm sure everyone elses, the belt alone was 147$. I asked them if maybe i could get the length of the belt, so i could take it to advance auto parts, or even auto zone. But to my luck, they couldn't get the belt length or anything. So, here i am, to ask the .org , where could i get a belt for WAY cheaper than the above price? Also, what size is the belt?
P.S.- Did anyone hear about the High school that got hit by the tornado? My sister and brother were in it, there're still kids missing.....please everyone pray that there okay, and pray for the student body as well.

you can get it much cheaper at pep boys or autozone, i forget the sizing though but its a gatorback belt model.
72.9 inches is stock size. I run a Gates V-rib @ 72.2 inches...and it's on there real freakin tight. IIRC the belt actually has 1851 as the last 4 digits of an 8-digit part number on the stock belt. That's 1851mm, which is 72.9 inches

I have done all three, stocker, then the 10 rib cut it in half (works perfectly) then bought the one from NAPA Gates belt.

The belt that came with the GM S/C and is on the car now is a Goodyear Gatorback #4100729
Advanced Auto online lists for $25.99 (10ribs x 72.938") if that helps anyone.
LOL!!! I am going to AutoZone tonight. I gave that same part number to Advance last night and they didn't find anything

How do you cut it in half? Can you just run a utility knife in one of the grooves or something?

I dont really know. It was trashed in the in the wreck
No Advanced Auto or Auto Zone had the belt in stock, so I ordered it from Parts America.com ( same as AdvancedAuto ). It should be here next week
