i have a 98 Z-24 and i want to either get a supercharger or a turbo kit. but i can't seem to find either one of them anywhere. can some one point me in the right direction on who carries them? help is much needed!!!!
I would put together a turbo kit myself. I'm doing so for less than $1000. I will be installing in a few weeks w/ a co-worker who did it with his Cavalier 2.4. The parts are there you just have to willing to search and get it.
-Turbo Manifold from ebay. I would personally use
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZhappythoughts47 because I purchased mine from him and it was excellent quality. The total w/ shipping is $195 and shipping took a little over a week.
-Adjustable Fuel Management Unit
-Fuel Pressure Regulator
-Brown Top Injectors that are rated for 370cc great for a stock motor. Should not need anything more unless your doing internal upgrades.
-Turbo
-Oil feed/Return lines
-Blow Off Valve
-Wastegate that is adjustable or fixed.
-Intercooler
-Intercooler Piping: You have a few choices with this and they are having a muffler shop run your piping, or purchasing a intercooler piping kit. The plus about the muffler shop is that you get the bends you want and less stressful. But they tend to rust over a period of time so I would have the piping coated.
-If you can get HpTuners and you can forget about Adjustable Fuel Management Unit and Fuel Pressure Regulator. But its $500 and only for 97 and up GM cars.
What all do you need to do to the motor to get it ready for Boost? i dont really want to build it! do u know how much boost a stock 2.4L will hold? Thanks
99z for 2015.. I'm back bitches
thanks for the advice. i'm fairly new to this stuff and most people around here would have never thought of turbocharging a Cavalier.
What brand of turbo are you all using? i finally found a T3 from Hahn.
