I was wondering if anyone knew the type of oil in the supercharger? We were changing the pulley then all of a sudden some oil came out and we noticed a plug to refill it. Dunno if this has happened to anyone else but we know we need to refill it now but not sure with what
Ok well I just searched through posts and found one talking about gm oil from pulleyboys.com, is that what I need? Sorry I posted before searching
yes. it is that supercharger oil.
I believe each of those bottles is 4 ounces... and I believe you need 2 for a full supercharger oil change.
Yup just read that too lol, wow says you should change it every 30k miles too thats crazy we didn't even know it was in there. Thanks

Why did oil come out?! If it came out of anything other than the plug then you fuct the snout seal up. Did you remove the snout from the SC to swap the pulley or something?
oil is not supposed to come out. how were you taking off the pulley? using a pulley puller or trying to bang it off with the hammer? regardless, you've ruined the snout seal, probably knocked one of the rotors off center, and now probably need to get it fixed by a professional.

They had taken off the snout to change the pulley because thats how the instructions showed to change the pulley, yeah they were using a pulley puller too...I just called my dad and told him though, he said when he put it back on he put some stuff in it to make sure it sealed...sorry I just got up and I can't remember exactly what he said I just saw your posts and called him. What should I look for when we refil it to know if anything is messed up? The oil leaking out of the snout...or is there anything else that would let us know that its messed up?
Thanks for posting that so we know something could be wrong and to look out for it...hopefully its all ok
