Well, as most of you know from reading my last couple threads, I was having misfire issues with my motor. A combination of misfires, and somehow running lean under high RPM's, I had detonation and ended up with smashed spark plugs. It wasn't until I pulled the motor today to see the destruction that was really done. Here is what happened: (as some of you had suggested)
ALL FOUR pistons had busted ring lands! I only had two smashed spark plugs, so I figured that only two pistons were damaged. I was wrong. Every single one of them had pieces missing! And as for the head, all the valves are good, but there is some significant material missing from the pieces bouncing around. The cylinder walls have no noticeable marks on them, so I should be okay for the rebuild. In the meantime, my old 2.4L is going back in to hold me over until I can get this one rebuilt.
On with the pics :-)

Well, that is all of the damage. Looks like I will be working on a rebuild over winter and hopefully will have a built bottom end come spring time. Any suggestions as to what CR I should go with? I'm staying supercharged, and will have HPTuners b4 the s/c goes back on :-) I learned my lesson...the hard way.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I thought the damage would be waaaay worse. I wonder if the head is still salvageable..

Possibly... but combustion chambers 1 and especially 3 look torn to hell.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
It's hard to see in the pics, but the cylinder walls all look nearly perfect. It looks like there are gouges in them, but thats the reflection from the top of the pistons.

when that happened to my engine, the cylinder wall were great, and valves were all fine.. but the head was fubared

^^Yup, same thing with mine.
Other odd thing I noticed is that the ring land on each cylinder all broke in the same exact place and almost the same exact length. It's hard to tell with the pics, cuz I didn't take the pics staright on. But it almost looks like the pistons were made that way, because they all broke so similarly. Anyone else have them break off on the bottom right of the piston??

Mine looked the same on my 2200 when i poped it on the bottle....now i keep one messed up piston as a trophy/reminder. plus its always fun to look at.
the ring end gap is done incorrectly and the expanding ring pushes up wards and breaks the piston up.

That sux man... nows deffinately a good time to make it nice and strong.
Correct me if I am wrong. All I have to go buy is what it says in his your profile. You put on a 2.6 inch pulley with no water injection, nothing to compensate fuel wise for the extra boost and no wideband to know what kind of AFR you had? That is a recipie for how to blow a ringland.
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
No, I didn't have alky injection. That was on its way. I tried not to boost too much for that reason. And YES, I had an FMU and an AFPR in conjuction with a Walbro 255 lph for fuel management, and YES I have an AEM Uego Wideband. So NO, I was not running completely blind or stupid.
Like I said before, I was having a misfiring problem before which I'm sure contributed to my problem. And my A/F number swere right around 11.0-12.0 under boost.

OUCH.
The head is savable, just needs a little work.
10:1 compression would work great

what are you woried about?
i ran both the 2.6 and 2.5" pulleys and had no problems, my motor has 120K or more on it and still runs fine, ( with the help of HPT and some other team green guys)
